Fantastic

I feel like I’ve waited a long time for another Belinda Bauer novel but this was definitely worth the wait. And such a treat to have Tim McInnerny reading! A bit of a twisty tale this one, with the usual array of nicely drawn characters- some familiar & some new.

My favourite Bauer - against stiff competition

An absolute gem of a book - rounded, purposeful characters; twisty; kind; poignant and very very funny. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Tim McInnerny is a perfect, sometimes hilarious, narrator. Loved loved loved it.

Another wonderful story told through a fantastic narrator keeping me entertained through lockdown.

Belinda B is a great story teller and Tim M the perfect voice.

Magnificent.

I don’t know how I will cope without these wonderful characters in my head now the book is finished. The narration is just perfect too.

Very entertaining with gentle humour.

I loved this. It's a gently meandering 'You'll probably guess Whodunnit' after one or two false starts. The characters are (mostly) extremely likeable and easy to follow. The unlikeable characters are more like cartoon bad guys and any violence is of the "KERPOW!" style and heavily moderated with humour.
The writing is excellent, as is the narration - the two are perfectly matched. The narrator differentiates well between the characters and avoids the 'forced' unnatural effect of many narrators.
You won't laugh out loud but I think you'll smile and chuckle a fair bit and really rout for the 'goodies'.

I love Felix

just finished this audiobook and I absolutely loved it! slow paced but with plenty of twists and turns leaving you guessing what might happen next! Felix is an adorable old man and I love the use of some of the old school phrases which took me back to my childhood. if you havent listened to or read this book already then I can highly recommend.

A wonderful story with a truly fantastic narrator.

I loved this. Felix is a most unlikely hero and that is a big part of this story's charm. Narrator is fab although his female voices border on the hilarious. I highly recommend.
