About this listen

Eric Grayson was just a welder by day and fantasy junky by night. His free days were spent camping in the woods and reading. When he falls through a crack in the foundation of reality his life is going to get a lot more interesting. Making his way through the sea of chaos, he finds himself, with a little help from a Goddess, in a new universe, on a new planet. Eric must discover the answer to a question. How to change the mind of an empire?

The exalted mage lords of the Empire have ruled for over two thousand years. Keeping the Empire safe from tribes of filthy savage beast kin and the void monsters that breach reality and are hungry to consume. Forduna is a world on the edge of the great universal tree, a bastion against the ever-encroaching void and the tendrils of the abyss that ever reach for a foothold in any reality. The dungeon Legion holds fast to the accords set forth in the days of old while it still has the strength to do so. The touch of the Gods and Goddesses is faint and growing weaker.

This is an Isekai LitRpg fantasy.

I really enjoy this book the world building was great and the characters all seem to make sense with the world there in. the author I think is becoming a favourite of mine

The good, it's well written and this is a good way to do an OP character. He is way overpowered but you still feel like he has to be careful and not go crazy. A lot of time is spent building things and practicing powers.

it's to bad that the story is horribly dark, depressing and quite frankly icky.

The Empire where the MC resides is extremely pro slavery, it's to the point of anything that isn't humanoid is killed outright or if the non humanoid sentient species are children then they're taken away. These children are on a social ladder bellow humanoid slaves, it can be a species with a human torso and a snake lower half or a gnome/halfling. these children will be taught from the moment they're enslaved that their only puprpose is to be used as "breeding stock" because with every generation they become more humanoid. Now you might think since it's a humanoid baby that it would be better of? nope, the baby is a slave from the moment it's born...

On to the society the MC is isekaied in to, love is hated and ridiculed while depravity and emotionless sex is a core part of the Empire, There is a moment in the audiobook where we hear the news about the Imperial Princess, apparently the Empire is celebrating the fact that she managed to make a man orgasm with her mouth in a certain amount of time, I don't remember the princesses age but apparently she was young. oral sex is something all girls are suppose to do since its gods decree apparently, it's wife training basically. Another time the MCs 2 pretent wife's proudly recount the time they did "wife training" trained by giving oral to the Imperial prince, this was to the MCs face, the Imperial prince is the MCs enemy btw and they interact a few times.

There are other dark things in the audiobook, one time the MC meets a noble that has a taste for demihuman flesh, demihuman being a slave who's human but might have a tail and fox ears. apparently this noble had a few fox girls chained up on his ship, now this is already dark but this is nothing compared to what really went on... The noble seems to prefer baby meat, the MC finds a half cooked body of a baby demihuman, it was never explicitly stated but I think that the noble tortured and raped the fox girls for fun and ate the baby's... his own kids... yes, you might think this is reaching but I don't think it is.

Remember how I wrote about the breeding stock slaves in the beginning? well, the people who breed these slaves are all of noble society. It's their duty to have sex with the breeding stock slaves and no one has a problem with their demihuman children becoming slaves. thats why I think the noble was eating his own baby's.

When the MC is at the breeding slave place we get a description of how 4 nobles are raping a gnome (gnomes are basically tiny people) the gnome is crying while having all 3 holes brutally violated while the 4th noble I'd cheering on. oh and apparently they're raping the gnome inside some kind of healing area so she can't die.

Honestly, it's a well written book but it's contents aren't for me, I was hoping that the subject matter would get toned down but it never did, it just kept get more and more dark. I also think the series will start to lean towards NTR which is when the heroine cheats on the MC which isn't my cup of tea. so I won't be listening to the second book.

it's very dark...

The book has alot of potential but wtf!
What man with some selfrespect would even consider any of the women in that Empire as anything but a c8cksleeve...
I get it, the author has a reason for it all and its well thought out but...
How is any of this appealing to anyone except for a degenerate?
His wife prospects tell the mc they trained sucking D on the prince to the mc's face..
I dont mind spicy content but come on....
There is to much focus on the sexual and not the good kind, there is to little story, all the women is passed around and turned into wh*res.. Yuck.
If I was the mc I would like a refund and switch worlds

What a degenerate author
