About this listen
A male/female romance set in the Saint View world. No prior knowledge of the world is needed to start this hot new series.
I’m the ruling queen of Saint View Strip. After growing up poor, taking my clothes off and dancing for men is all I know. My thriving club and the people I employ are everything. They’re my ride or die, and I’m theirs.
Nobody is taking them away from me.
So when a local politician announces plans to bulldoze everything I’ve spent the last 10 years working for, I won’t be silenced.
Not by some suit.
And not by the cops.
Joshua Boston can arrest me all he wants. He can come at me with strong arms and piercing eyes that make my insides tingle. He can push me up against the wall and cuff me all day long.
I’ll still hate him.
I’ll still want him.
In this town of gangs, shootings, and dangers around every corner, no one is safe. I’m no damsel in distress, but when a violent threat ups the stakes, it’s Boston I’m forced to turn to.
We may hate each other, but the real enemy is the one neither of us will see coming.
Evil Enemy is a dark romance that may have triggers for some listeners. It was first published in the Hate to Want You Anthology.

Quick synopsis: Eva owns a strip club in Saint View and is pissed off when the mayor candidate says he will be shutting everything down. Enraged she gets into an altercation which results in Boston, a police officer working security for the mayor to arrest her. They are immediately attracted to each other but have clashing personalities.
✨Hero✨Joshua Boston is fed up of the corruption in his police force. When his partner dies, he wants to know the truth but after seeing how his chief handles the case he can’t take it anymore.
🍌Boston was good to Eve. Troy Duran did a great job of bringing him to life. Just wasn’t obsessed or invested.
✨Heroine✨ 32YO Eve Hawkins is a confident sexy business owner he knows what she wants. She can’t help fantasising about the cop that arrested her. When he keeps popping up, she doesn’t want to fight the attraction.
🍒Eve was badass I’ll admit, I really liked her attitude.
What I thought: This was a fun listen but nothing special.
It was hot in the beginning. Like he’s a cop and she’s a bad girl, the tension was good. But I got a bit fed up of the back forth and bickering around 60%. They were in a cycle of pissing each other off and then coming back together. i needed something different.
There is so much plot in this book. But most of it is unresolved - we don’t find out who killed his partner. We don’t find out what happened to Fawn. We don’t find out why he was taking bribes from a gang. This book kinda felt like missed potential, it had too much plot to be an easy forbidden romance but didn’t fully tell a story. I know her other books finish tell the complete story but I can’t be assed to read those.
William and his wife pissed me off at the beginning. And the injustice and the corruption in the police force were really pissing me - wish we got some closure on that. I didn’t care about her relationship with the mayor I wanted to see the chief be fired at the end of the story.
✨Favourite scenes✨
Boston arresting her (Chapter 2)
Them flirting over text (Chapter 11)
This was a fun listen but nothing special. I wasn’t attached to the characters and felt the plot was a but chaotic.
