Everything but the Truth
is Gillian McAllister's stunning breakthrough thriller about deceit, betrayal and one woman's compulsive need to uncover the truth

Perfection. Intriguing and compelling. An exceptional debut
A beautifully written domestic noir full of secrets and lies that felt utterly plausible yet suspenseful and chilling. Perfectly paced, with a clever, tense plot that makes you question your own moral code. I was gripped from the very first page
Everything but the Truth is a cracker of a debut, all the more gripping because it could happen to any of us. Rachel and Jack and Wally were completely real to me from the very first page; I HAD to know what was coming next. Tense, thrilling and compelling - this is a book to devour
Incredible! I read it all in one sweaty-palmed sitting. A morally complex mystery bound up in the everyday of our ordinary lives - it's impossible to read this book and not ask yourself, how far would I go for love?
Everything But the Truth is startlingly good. Claustrophobic, suspense-layered and devillishy twisty, it grabs your attention from the very first page. What makes Gilly McAllister's debut rise above other psychological thrillers is a lead character you can't help but root for - even though you suspect you shouldn't. Wise, scary and terrifyingly real, this marks Gillian McAllister as a new star in psychological thrillers
Everything But The Truth is a thunderous debut. An utterly unique story with a deep heartbeat and expertly crafted moral dilemmas. I read it in just two days, my heart in my mouth the whole time
Addictive - I found myself wanting to pick it up at every opportunity. Rachel manages the delicate balance between believable and likeable and you find yourself praying things work out for her. This is a brilliant debut
Once I'd started I was of course powerless to stop. Everything But the Truth is a dream début, brilliantly executed, clever and utterly realistic. I loved it
Intriguing and atmospheric

i got into the quite shallow storyline but found midway through the main female character had such a narrow minded personality it became irritating

If you could sum up Everything but the Truth in three words, what would they be?

Gripping psychological story

What was one of the most memorable moments of Everything but the Truth?

I loved the gradual discovery and the unfolding of the story and don't want to reveal my favourite moment as it may spoil the story for others.

What does Colleen Prendergast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Colleen brought the story to life and I felt engaged with the characters. I have listened to other books read by her and theyhave all been enjoyable

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Bit tearful at times

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this story and I feel sad that it is over and I am missing the characters. I binge listened to it over a week as I was so engrossed

Gripping story and excellent narration

So much potential, but a drawn out middle and a very weak ending. The story could have been a short story not 10 hours,

A bit lacklustre

I love it when I truly identify with a character like I did with her. As a recovering perfectionist struggling to come to terms with their own imperfections, with life’s inherent messiness, but I was worried the ending would be contrived. In the end it felt perfect. Glad I discovered this author as it’s the second one I’ve loved. Nicely narrated too

Love these books. Love the narrator. The story is amazing. I started at her last book and absorbed it. I have now finished it as quick and I will be working my way through all of the books.
