This is Truly an exquisite book. I can highly recommend it. I have admired Mary Robinson for many many years, but having read/listened to this book I now hold her in my heart and soul as a hero and an immensely gifted person. Thank you Mary.

Listening to Mary narrate this herself was a joy. An inspirational woman. One my favourite of Mná Na hÉireann 💚🇮🇪. She has dedicated herself to doing what is right. I would have loved to experience working with her on a project. I thoroughly loved the book. Inspired to do better ✨️

Engaging memoir in which Robinson speaks of her achievements without self-congratulation, is candid about those goals as UN Human Rights Commissioner which she did not achieve, iand speaks without bitterness about the difficult personalities she came to deal with. She details the tragic situations in her own life and which she encountered in her many roles movingly but there is humour too, at times at her own expense. Fascinating memoir recalling her childhood in a rural town in the West of Ireland, daughter of devout Catholic parents and initial intent to become a nun, followed by increasing unease with the cultural norms she grew up with and her embrace of human rights while at university, playing a central role in spearheading social change as a human rights lawyer before becoming Ireland’s first female President
