Camryn Moore doesn't do Decemeber. Not the parties. Not the memories. Not the pain. She buries herself in boardrooms by day and dirty martinis by night, trading connection for control. As a high-powered CFO, she’s unshakeable. Untouchable. But behind the sharp suits and sharper tongue is a woman slowly unravelling.

Then she meets him. A stranger. A spark. A moment that should’ve meant nothing somehow changes everything.

Dec is charming, handsome, reserved, and maddeningly perceptive. He seems to see every crack Camryn hides. But Dec isn’t just a man nursing his own ghosts. He’s hiding truths that could destroy whatever fragile trust is beginning to form between them.

In a season she hates, Camryn might have to face the past she’s buried, the love she thought she’d never have, and the man who might just ruin her.

Or save her.

This audiobook is emotionally devastating in the best and worst ways. The story carries an intense emotional load, especially in the opening chapters, and never fully lets you off the hook. Trauma, grief, and alcohol use are central themes, handled in a way that feels uncomfortably real.

The slow-build intimacy is where this story truly shines. The yearning, the restraint, and the eventual release are sensual and emotionally charged rather than flashy. Listening to this was an intense shared experience, the kind that leaves you sitting in silence afterwards, processing what just hit you.

This is not a festive listen. It’s raw, heavy, and deeply affecting. If that’s your kind of emotional catharsis, it delivers.

Oh my goodness that was an emotional rollercoaster of a book! I was in tears at some points and laughing at others. The narrators were brilliant and really brought the characters to life.

Couldn’t put the book down!

I nearly stopped the story a few minutes into the book. I thought this sounds like the typically AI story line. But I was busy doing chores so was to lazy to find another story. Glad I did, what an amazing story. Beautifully written and how love and an attitude of making this work plays out. I think we can learn allot from this relationship and apply to our own.
