About this listen

Eversion is a superb, original Gothic SF novel. A small group of intrepid explorers are in search of a remote and mysterious artefact. It's a well-funded expedition, well organised, which is lucky as they're sailing north of Bergen on the schooner Demeter, searching for a narrow inlet which will lead them to a vast uncharted lake - and their goal--

Until disaster strikes.

Doctor Silas Coade wakes from disturbing dreams, on the steamship Demeter, in pursuit of an extraordinary find almost too incredible and too strange to believe, secreted within a lagoon in the icy inlets of Patagonia. But as they come in sight of their prize he and the crew see they are not the first to come so far: there is a wreck ahead, and whatever ruined it may threaten them as well--

Shaking off his nightmares, Doctor Silas Coade joins his fellow exploders on the deck of the zeppelin Demeter and realises something has already gone dangerously wrong with their mission. If any of them are to survive, then he will have to take the exploration - and their lives - into his own hands . . .

Don't know what it is but Reynolds stories don't always have the best plots or the coolest tech... but the enjoyment of reading and the compulsion to go on is undeniable. Please continue with whatever you are doing and soon a true masterpiece will emerge and in the meantime you are staving off depression and despair in your reader's lives. One more thing, the whole ghoststory thing is absolutely one of your fortes... hope you'll do more of it.

Reynolds got some magic touch

I felt it was strange to begin with but as the book got further in I was hooked, absolutely amazing little novel. Highly recommended for any sci-fi fan, it's different from the norm but certainly fantastic.

An amazing Sci-fi piece

Despite having read the description, I found that once I started listening through the first and second chapters I had completely expected something else. However, I continued on as I love Alastair Reynolds' captivating stories, and I was not disappointed in the slightest! I found the performance to be excellent, and thoroughly enjoyed the novel itself.

It's been a while since I've read/listened to any Alastair Reynolds novels, and I've found myself completely hooked once again!

Not what I expected, but I loved it all the same!
