Michel Eyquem de Montaigne (* 28. Februar 1533 auf Schloss Montaigne in der Dordogne; gestorben am 13. September 1592 am gleichen Ort) war Philosoph und Begründer der Essayistik. Mit seinem Hauptwerk, den "Essais", begründete der unorthodoxe Humanist, Skeptiker und Moralphilosoph die literarische Kunstform des Essay. Seine vorurteilsfreie Menschenbetrachtung und sein liberales Denken leiteten die Tradition der französischen Moralisten ein und beeinflussten weltweit zahlreiche Philosophen und Schriftsteller nach ihm, unter ihnen Voltaire und Friedrich Nietzsche.

Die Sprecherin:
Brigitte Trübenbach, studierte in Halle Sprechwissenschaften und Germanistik. Seit 1980 arbeitet sie mit Schauspielern und Sängern auf den Gebieten Stimmbildung, Sprechtraining und künstlerisches Wort. Dieses Metier vertrat sie auch im Rahmen einer langjährigen Lehrtätigkeit am Staatsschauspiel Dresden, der Sächsischen Staatsoper und der Dresdner Hochschule für Musik. Seit 1993 ist Trübenbach Fernsehsprecherin beim MDR, bei ARD und ARTE. Seit 2000 sprach Trübenbach zahlreiche Hörbücher für die Deutsche Zentralbücherei für Blinde und den Hörbuchverlag phonetics group ein.
