The Scottish Highlands; a sparse, mountainous region some say was carved by the gods themselves. Few places are as untouched as this harsh, prehistoric landscape. It is no place for man. Another brilliant read in one sitting!
At the time of writing this, it's 03:20AM. I've only just finished it. When I pressed play at just before 9PM last night, I had a feeling I wouldn't be turning it off until it did automatically at the end, and boy was I right! But I certainly wasn't expecting what I got. I wondered how Iain would work this, but what I got was the brilliant bloody, violent, sexual horror Iain is very good at writing. I'm so glad he's given us contact info at the end of this, because I fully intend to use it. I've read Sam, and ASBO by Iain as well, just as good as this. If you're looking for bloody, violent horror, and you haven't read any of Iain's books yet, do so, you won't regret it. I certainly didn't! The ending made me gasp out loud. Took me a second to get it, but when I did, well, let's just say I thought, uh oh! Really good narrator as wel, first time I've heard him. Now, I'm going to try and get some sleep! Morning everyone! :)

Absolutely, Fabulously Terrifying.
What a story this is. Iain Rob Wright once again proves he’s a masterful storyteller and an expert of the horror genre. With Escape he plays on our fears and asks what if we shouldn’t have put our trust in the people that run escape rooms. The characters in this story are in for quite the ride as they do just that. Locked into a series of shipping containers that are buried beneath a field in the middle of nowhere with just a series of ‘games’ as their only way out. It quickly becomes clear that there’s more going on than a simple team building weekend. The author does what he does best and keeps the reader and the characters reeling from one spine chilling experience to the next. This is great as you’re never really sure who, if anyone, can really hope to find freedom again.
Aubrey Parsons is a narrator that I have had the pleasure to listen to on many occasions reading various authors' books. Each and every time he delivers with skill, talent and a flair for the emotions of each character as he brilliantly brings each to life. I doubt that there is anyone out there that could do a better job in bringing this story to life.

Quite the ride
I listened straight through. Just a night of sleep I was happy to delay. I tried to turn it off and hit the hay but it was no use, I had to know. As with any review I write I am careful to omit spoilers. If you like this author, then the book is what you would expect. It is, at the time of this review, totally stand alone.
I would say it compares to his novel "Housemates" in terms of level of violence, suspense, twists, and an ending that wraps all the main elements presented in the plot. The epilogue was a tad on the "could be a second part..." though, I suppose it was sufficient to give the reader a chance to be a bit of a detective. I will likely listen again and pay better attention to certain comments and play that role. Mr. Wright is good at making a reader (or listener) think.
Narrator was very good, one voice reminded me of the voice of the actor who played Hagrid in Harry Potter movies. He had unique voices for all the characters except maybe the girls but for a male, it was still very good. Great pace and enthusiasm.
Overall, I was happy and I hope this review helps. I did pay for this and only want to help fellow buyers in making choosing a book a tad easier.

Gory!!
I don't mind the gore! I knew this was horrorish when diving in. I love me a good freaky book. I really like the plot of this one and the development. There was a few phrases that made me roll my eyes, like I'm going to "mash you up". Mash you up was said a lot. I listen to books written by authors all around the world so I know some phrases are popular where others aren't. So the storyline was decent. I finished it in only a day so I must have enjoyed it!
The narration wasn't my favorite. I would have preferred if the narrator didn't alter his voice for various characters. Some of them sounded plain awful. However, when he just read the story it was fine and didn't interfere with my enjoyment. If I'm stopping and paying specific attention to the narration, it's either out of this world or it needs work. This one needs work. However, not enough to make me avoid the narrator in the future but I don't believe I'll be seeking him out either.

Creepy story
This was a good listen. The narrator did a good job with different character voices and made them come to life. This is a story of retribution/revenge, depending on how you look at it. It was interesting to see how it played out. I love Iain Rob Wright’s book and will recommend them anyone who likes a good thriller or horror read.
