Summary

When the shah is thrown out of Iran, the nation's turmoil becomes world headlines. Caught in this shifting world of fanaticism, ambition, duplicity, heartbreak, and violent death are the foreign helicopter pilots who have been servicing the oil fields up and down the country. Their one objective is to make a bold, concerted escape to safety across the Gulf.

James Clavell told the full story of the three weeks it took them to achieve this in his hugely popular best seller Whirlwind. Here he has taken out a single, poignant thread from that epic narrative. The result is the moving and tender love story of Erikki, the blond Finnish pilot, and his beautiful high-born Iranian wife, Azadeh.

What a con!!

It's the same story as whirlwind, what a waste of a credit. Should be ashamed selling it!

Escape

A complete waste of money. It is an abridged version of whirlwind. Same story same characters. I don’t know how he got away with calling this book as a book 7 in the series. DREADFUL !!!!

This is Whirlwind abridged, not the sequel.

this book should be advertised as an abridged and summarized version of Whirlwind, not as the sequel for book 6 of the Asian saga. I honestly recommend reading the unabridged book for it is much more detailed, showcasing -in over 50 hour entrancing narration- amazing character development, wonderful imagery descriptions, and really good cultural depictions of what was happening in every angle of revolution. However, if you are not a strong reader or simply don't have enough time but still want to get a glimpse into the great plot construccions of Clavels writing and learn more about the revolution that influenced the Persian gulfs politics and economy; then by all means try this book out for the story is good and the narrator quite awesome.
