About this listen

She never thought to find love. He never thought to keep it.

Sold to whoremasters by her own husband, Tysha flees into the night with pursuers hot on her trail. For once in her life, the gods show mercy and deliver her to Erik the Tempered, a man as wild as he is noble. With him, Tysha’s long-dormant heart awakens, helplessly drawn to the quiet, enigmatic man who seems content to keep his distance.

Obligated to choose a bride for himself, Erik has spent weeks in half-hearted pursuit of a woman. Any woman will do, so long as he can easily say good-bye. However, fate brings him an unexpected bride, as nervous as she is lovely. With each passing day, Erik realizes his timid bride conceals the heart of a lion and finds it harder to turn from her sweet touch and haunting green eyes. But loving her comes with a great price: his family, his home, his purpose. Soon, Erik and Tysha will discover both the reward and cost of unconditional love.

This novel plays on the trope of abduction. While Dokiri men won’t let anything keep them from the woman they love, even that woman herself, all love scenes between the hero and heroine are consensual.

What can I say, I was emotionally attached right from the beginning, (I am not sure if I was meant to but I did a lot of crying for these 2 characters like I was living their pain) beautifully written and narrated. Now to book 3.

Fantastic

I could listen to Shane East all day, his voice, performance, accents were perfect. I cannot wait for the rest of the series to be on audiobook, I know I will be listening!

Love this series!

Great story. Not as good as the 1st one but good enough.
And the same narrator…

Wouldn’t it be more interesting if the brothers had different narrators? It would give each character more life instead of listening to the same narrator all the time.
But thats just me. ︵/('ヮ`)\︵

As good as the last one

Think the first one had a bit more going on but this was still good and held my attention throughout.
so each book I'm assuming is from perspective of different characters in the male clan as the story carrys on from the last book. Narrator another job well done but as I said in last review he is not so good at the female voice parts but this one seemed to have a lot less need for the Narrator to put on the voice of a shrieking woman lol so as the main female character in this is the opposite to josolyns in book one, I never much noticed what annoyed me with him in book one plus its much more told from Eric's side, not always but yeah. just incase you liked book 1 but that put you off of listening to this book, I thought I'd elaborate.
So another good book with new personal story's of Eric an bride plus follow up as a whole from book one with a couple unexpected turn outs

Another good book but from Eric's story

the world building is excellent, the story continuation is great, the characters are fab and Shane East's performance is outstanding. my only niggle is that all intimate scenes are fade to black and I prefer a touch more spice. not sure why my review for the first book isn't showing up, so this one is shorter version of the first as both books are a really enjoyable and gripping. I've already got the next book and despite it being 1:15 in the morning I'm about to start it.

Great series
