It is the most disturbing book I have read including being sold into sex slavery, torture and so on. Hence 3 🌟 Having said this, it was incredibly compelling and I had to read #2.
So I'll leave the decision down to you whether you are brave enough to read it!!

This story is so hard to describe..I honestly do not know how to put together a review that would be fitting to tell you the BRILLIANCE of this story.
Captivating is what I felt as I listened to this book..I could not tear myself away from it..Even though I actually felt disturbed in a way by some of the actions of the characters.
But the plot and intrigue just draws you into its darkness and depravity..
I LOVE Giana Darling she is one of my favourite authors and her writing is so beautiful and poetic that no matter what she writes, whether it is dark or light you find yourself falling in love with it.
Cosima and Alexander's relationship is very complicated and dysfunctional.
Cosima is sold to Alexander Davenport,Lord Thornton..to pay off her father's debt,she would be bound to him for 5 years,kept as his slave.,his sex slave.
I found some of Alexanders treatments of Cosima very hard to listen to,he was a cruel man and very honest with what his intentions were.
Cosima has to earn privileges by pleasing him and performing sexual acts for him...Cosima was not a timid slave though she was defiant,asked questions and would argue back to Alexander.
But there is more to Alexander than meets the eye,and as the story unfolds I understood him more.
He had been moulded by his father to be like him..to be cold and to follow in his footsteps..They were a part of THE ORDER a secret society of sorts,that made their own rules.
Alexander could be brutal at times and I hurt for Cosima I tend to really become emotionally involved with characters so when Cosima was in pain I felt for her and felt her pain physically and emotionally,
But Cosima was shaped by Alexanders behaviour and became addicted to his punishments and sometimes with his gentle hands...She changed him...he changed her...She falls in Love and so reluctantly does he but he won't name what he feels.
But nothing is what it seems and secrets and lies are revealed that alters the very fabric of Alexander and Cosima's relationship.
I thought I wouldn't like Alexander and he is tough to warm to,he is so stern and stoic but there is just something about him that draws you to him.
I liked Cosima she had sacrificed her freedom for her family and suffered by the hands of THE ORDER..She had been through some horrible things...She was so strong,resiliant and loved firecely she would do anything for the ones she loved and she did...Her siblings even her twin brother Sebastian had no idea what it cost her to save them.
Now take heed because this book is a duet so yes there is a cliff hanger..so prepare yourself..
There is so much angst and drama in this story but some very heart felt moments
This whole book is narrated wonderfully by Scarlett Day and she was excellent at portraying ALL the characters.She changed her voice to accomodate each person her English accent was great especially since it was a British man she had to voice.
I really enjoyed her performance she was Amazing.
Giana Darling's exquisite words and imagination will Enthrall you just like the title suggests..She has written a story that will ensnare you with its dark charm.
I Loved it.
