I thought it was too short… Well, it was so good that time passed by quickly. Brooks and Rory’s story grabbed me as it talks about the heartbreak after losing a loved one, new beginnings with an instant family that has to blend somehow and a blossoming romance that can not be denied. Brooks is the last Wilder to fall… again. Rory is the best partner he could find and I think Amara is somewhere up there happy for them. I love this Wilder world and couldn’t be happier for this one couple.

This was such a great listen! A heartfelt story filled with emotion and characters I truly loved. A fantastic way to the end The Wilder Brothers Series.

Brooks and Rory had unique circumstances with some traumatic experiences. They tried so hard to fight the feelings and stay away but their attraction was undeniable. Brooks was truly a safe space for Rory and the girls.

Dual narration by Kit Swann and Robert Hatchet truly enhanced my listening experience. They hit the emotions perfectly and pulled me into the story, wishing I was a Wilder!

The sneak peak into what’s to come with the new series Ashford Creek has me excited for the next books.

Brooks was planning a long and beautiful future with his wife, but cancer had other ideas. He made her a promise that he believed he could never fulfill however he has been unable to forget the night he spent with Rory. That situation only becomes more difficult when not only is she part of his life but becomes his neighbor as well.

When tragedy strikes Rory will do whatever is necessary to be there for her nieces even if they don’t remember her. She wants to help make the transition as smooth as possible even if that means moving into the empty house that Brooks owns. She knows that Brooks is determined to keep himself at a distance however her nieces don’t agree.

Both Brooks and Rory bear the emotional scars of the past which not only makes their relationship tumultuous but perfect for each other. I enjoyed seeing Brooks open his heart and reach for the happiness he has always deserved. Robert Hatchett and Kit Swann give a wonderful performance that allows you to experience the depth of their feelings and understand the characters.

I have listened to all 10 Wilder Brothers stories in this series. Thanks to the entire series (including 2 novellas) being included in the Audible Plus Catalogue for free!

It has been an enjoyable journey (well, except for the Amos novella, which was dire - in my humble opinion)! 😏 The Wilder Men are wonderful, their stories were so diverse and Carrie Ann is a great (& prolific) author.

I started with Montgomery Ink Legacy (which I know is absolutely the wrong way around) but, once you start a series, you just can’t stop! So I’ll now run to Montgomery Ink, as that’s also available on Plus.

This author is well worth following.

This story is absolutely heartbreaking with Rory’s nieces losing their parents but I absolutely love the grief journey all the main characters are on in this book. This one is a tearjerker but such a lovely ending.
The narrators really bring to life the story but the strong emotions from all characters
