This Audio skips entire parts of the book!
Don't buy this Audio. The accents for the characters are all over the place, they don't suit the characters and (the worst deal breaker) it skips entire parts of the book. I was reading my book copy along while listening to the audio and I realised the audio just jumps over entire sections of the book!!!! What the hell! This is not what I paid for and im furious. I waited a whole month for my credit and then wasted it on this. Don't do it. I would give it 0 stars if I could

Terrible storytelling
Awful version of the original book. Whole chapters missing, various parts omitted throughout the audiobook from the paperback which I can only fathom to make the audio cheaper to produce, utterly disappointed with the telling and characters voices not congruent throughout the book.

Voices changes from previous book and bits missing
The voices have changed a lot like orick the dwarf goes from deep and powerful to like he has taken a load of helium . And bits was removed like the puzzle he was given by the dwarfs and the religious customs of the dwarfs ie how ereagon is now considered a dwarf that he must ensure that if a fellow dwarf dies that he makes sure he is returned to the catacombs or buried in stone ... All this and more was removed which explained a lot in the later books

The legend continues
I reviewed Eragon back in 2006 as Sanlan37 and looked forward to the next part of the story. A friend of mine had the Gerald Doyle version on cd but I prefer the narration of Kerry Shale after getting used to his character voices in Eragon so I downloaded the audio book from here instead. I was not dissapointed . You get a follow on from where the last book ended, and the story is progressed in such a way that it's possible to see a third book on the horizon without compromising the end of this story. A talented new writer without a doubt.

Do not buy this version! I bought the unabridged version by accident. The accents are awful. The fake Indian accent is bordering on racist. I listened to 20 mins before checking and realising my mistake. I then bought the unabridged version which I will now listen to.

Good story telling big chunks missing
I enjoyed the narrator, his choices of accents and voices was very entertaining however, I was annoyed by how much that was skipped out, many points that will be very important to the future story. I'll be looking for another narrator for the future books after I have gone back and reread this story.
A good option to choose for many who don't mind plot holes or information being missed out.

Good listen but abridged???
Loved the story but was disappointed when I realised that it was abridged. An abridged version does not do justice to Christopher Paolini's story. The reader was good though and I loved most of his character's voices - once I got used to the accent. For those who listened to this version, please do yourself a favour and read the book to understand its true magnificence.

OK
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
the narrator was horrible, accents terrible, and overall poor performance.
Should never use an american accent for the audio book, it makes it feel cheap.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
plot was OK
