Excellent Collection and Masterful Performance

First off, this is a wonderful collection with pretty much everything that Poe has ever written in a single book. The downloadable table of contents comes in VERY handy… navigating without it would be a nightmare.

Now for the voice that brought life to this book... I simply loved Mr. Duquenoy’s voice. It was a pure delight to listen to and he delivered a truly heartfelt performance in this reading. He pauses at the right moments and puts emphasis on the right words when needed, without ever over doing it. You will not get tired of this man’s voice!

For any Poe fans I think this is a great addition to your library which you will revisit over and over…

Excellent readings, wonderful voice, but...

This collection of Poe’s works is the best I have ever heard. The narrator has a rich, full voice. The dramatic presentation is excellent. Anyone wishing to immerse themselves in Poe’s stories will not be disappointed by this book.

However, and this is a complaint is leveled at ALL Audible books, the stories are labeled as “Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3”, etc. If you wish to hear a particular story, poem, or other work you have to find some method of locating it, such as making your own list. For me, that takes away from the enjoyment of the book.

Again, the content of this book is excellent, and if you don’t have a problem with unlabeled content, this should not take away from your enjoyment of this book. Overall I recommend buying this book, because the narrator and the content make it worth the purchase price.

Things we didn't know

I like listening to this before I go to sleep. You'll never tire of this reading and there are many writings I never knew, I never heard anyone mention Poe was one of the first science fiction writers but that's probably why my dad was so fond of him. I am really enjoying it and love listening to these stories

It needs wisper-synch

I've always been fascinated by the genius of Edgar Allan Poe. I knew there had to be more to him than horror, macabre, and melancholy. And there is. But this edition of his complete works needs to be synched with the Kindle edition.

I'm just a huge fan of E.A.P

ever since I was in the 6th grade I've been a fan of Edgar. I've read his stories and poems many times and this is the first time on audible. it's very useful while at work, I just plug in and listen to the stories. beautiful work!

Great works, flat reading

It’s wonderful to have all of these works by Poe collected in this format. Unfortunately the reading is flat with virtually no intonation or effective pausing, let alone an effort to distinguish different voices. It feels like a schoolboy who has been assigned the task of reading aloud the complete works of Poe.
