About this listen

"I'm really getting exhausted from people forcing me to kill them. My plea for mercy is quite simple — don't cheat on your partner."

Secrets linger like shadows in Joplin, Missouri, where the sins of infidelity have a deadly consequence. When a serial killer terrorizes the town, preying on those who break their vows, one woman manages to escape, aiding in the capture of this ruthless killer. But when new threats start appearing and her abusive ex resurfaces from the dead, Angela's world spirals into a web of deceit.

Haunted by nightmares and flashbacks, she begins to question her sanity as the lines between reality and delusion blur. Is one of her former lovers truly alive and seeking revenge, or is her mind playing twisted games?

The narration of this novel is what did it for me. The sarcasm of the main character came through very well, making it easy to differentiated between thoughts and dialogue. I’m super impressed.

The plot itself was majorly disturbing in all the right ways. It kept the reader engaged and forced one to question a million little things throughout the telling. I do feel that some of the outcomes were a bit far-fetched, but for a thriller, it worked.

Had I read this, however, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much. The narration was excellent.

I'm a big fan of Jessica Lynn Sorensen’s writing. There’s something about her style that resonates with me, and I love the way she writes such captivating characters.

Echoes of the Hunted is about a serial killer who haunts a town, targeting vow-breakers, until a woman escapes his deadly grasp. Although she continues to fear he will come for her, she begins to rebuild her life. Then, as new threats arise and her abusive ex returns, her life becomes haunted by nightmares and flashbacks. She begins to question her own sanity as the lines between reality and delusion blur.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator was fantastic.

At one point in the story, I got a little confused as it seemed to jump from one location to another and there was a lot going on, but then it all came together and the ending was a surprise. A great read. Go and check out Jessica’s books; you won’t be disappointed!

Tense and twisty!
