This is a very special book for special people, and I don't mean that in the negative sense. Actually, it's the opposite. I always thought that things like ADHD or Dyslexia were simple handicaps, but this book showed me the other side. The opposite is true, and I owe some thanks to the author for now understanding this "disorder" if you could called it that... better. Thanks, Harold Stanley. And thank you, Brenda Brown, for narrating this book.

For teachers, for parents, even for husbands or wives who married someone with dyslexia. Or just as a general information source to know more about the "disorder" or in other words, the way the brain works. I like how the brain stimuli were broken down into different parts, and the dopamine and learning competencies were highlighted and explained to make it sound reasonable and understandable. What I also liked, was the emphasis on the strong parts of dyslexic people: The strengths and the talents they might possess, even though it might take a little digging to figure out what exactly they are so good at. Overall, a good book.I enjoyed it and I recommend it.

As a dyslexic I found a couple of points and bits of information useful. For its length, this is a comprehensive, well rounded introduction to dyslexia. However the general ‘tips’ are fairly useless, and clearly not written by someone with dyslexia. There are a couple of really irritating and biased references to gender - and oddly a couple of religious connotations...
The narrator’s voice is irritating and distracting- I thought it was an automated voice until the credits at the end.
This might be a useful, quick introduction if you are studying the subject rather than a dyslexic looking to understand yourself and tips for learning.
