Summary

Badgelor has been patient, or at least as patient as a homicidal badger can be.

With the celebration of Grebthar Day, it's finally time to go get Charles! Nothing is going to stop Jim and his companions, not even the signs of the Dark Overlord's return. This adventure could be Windfall's greatest yet, or it could be its absolute downfall.

bad writing decisions

Although funny..ish and and a refreshing performance, the author`s decisions rendered the series dead. Listening to this last book feels like you put more energy into it than the author.

Would give it six stars if I could

Unsure if a reference was included in this volume for 'having the high ground', but regardless of that, a fantastic listen.

One full star for the 'three marks at two ten' trench run reference.

Plot, voice acting, character development, and angry badgers all excelled.

Another good book about, the Major of Noobtown.

Usually, book series have books that goes up and down, in quality.
I am happy that this series has been keeping a good and fun quality, thru the whole series.
I am longing for the next book in this series.

It's just personal thing, but even if the book is around 13 h long, it still fellt short.

I know that writing books is hard, especially good books like this.
But I wish that books where atlest 15 h long.

The Narrator, as always, does an awesome work, both by the voices of the characters and the narration of the book.

Top Tier

The best book in the series by far. If you enjoyed the others you’ll be sure to enjoy this. The narration by Johnathan is as fantastic as ever and the storyline is the best one yet.

I eagerly await what comes next in the series!

Mainly a Christmas special

This book is essentially a long Christmas special you could skip the first 10-12 hours and not miss a single important part of the story it was enjoyable for the last 4 hours or so but before that was just a cheap Christmas tale that has no place in the story I will give credit to the voice actor though he did a very good job with the voices a wide range of characters and he did them very well

Fecking Amazing!

such an amazing story and narration! i can't wait for the next book, I must have it! the beginning was a bit slow but I honestly I enjoyed the characters development and skill boosting. I love the terribly good jokes, puns; we all need some laughs. the 2nd part of the story and the final battle was epic and the plot thickens!

The Three Stooges of LitRPG

This sequel certainly increased its attempt at humor, and it worked for quite a few portions, not so much for others. One portion of the book was even heavily influenced by the movie Homealone, which made me both roll my eyes and laugh a little. The main character, a demon, and a badger make up The Three Stooges of LitRPG, and they're constantly doing something beyond stupid to one another. I would have rated this book a lot lower if it wasn't for the plot twist at the end, which redeemed the overall story. Because of the ending, I'm now looking forward to the sequel, and I'll even put up with the silly d*ck jokes and all their shenanigans.

Wow, out of nowhere, he just decided to end it!?!?

In the most jolting, bizarre way possible the author just decided to end it? Not like a cliffhanger, but like the series?!? Half way through the book, the book changes and becomes drastically different. I had to make sure, the audiobook didn’t skip to another book or chapter or something... it’s that jarring. I feel robbed and cheated. I will probably try and get a refund. I had been enjoying the series, but what the hell just happened???

Phenomenal story again

If you have already listened to the first three books then you know what's in store in this book. A little slow in the beginning but picks up towards the middle and gets better and better until the exciting ending. Already looking forward to book five!

Meh.

Look it is worth listening too. It was slow until the very end and to me had a massive plot hole but a I like the series overall.

Didnt see that coming!

No spoilers here... just another great installment in Noob Town. If you are still listening to the series at this point then you love it (as you should) or your hate reading. personally I can't wait to read book 5.

Fixing mistakes

This book is all about fixing mistakes or well being out on the path and of course we have a major holiday.

Overall I enjoyed this book and will be starting the series over to listen the whole way through again. Highly recommend

A lot of disinteresting filler

This book focuses on the preparation for investigating the castle which is fated to be done on Grebthar Day, the hero who defeated the Dark Overlord in years past. There was a lot of preparation filler that, while ostensibly meant to be for character development, just came off mostly as unfocused filler. The major twist came off rather oddly which then ended in an unpredictable and somewhat unsatisfying ending.

Still, Ryan Rimmel appeared to decide to move the story in another direction so I hold out hope that it will re-right itself in Book 5.

Lots of filler

It was good, but to much filler. I found myself forwarding 30 seconds alot and not losing any context.
