About this listen

Just when Alex Cross's life is calming down, he's drawn back into the game to confront the Audience Killer - a terrifying genius who stages his killings as public spectacles in Washington, DC and broadcasts them live on the net.

In Colorado, another criminal mastermind is planning a triumphant return. From his maximum-security prison cell, Kyle Craig has spent years plotting his escape and revenge. Craig prefers to work alone, but if joining forces with DC's Audience Killer helps him to get the man who put him away - Alex Cross - then so be it ...

I really didn't like the music in between chapters, it creates less suspense and ruins it

Annoying music

I love Alex cross books but I really do wish they would keep the same narrator.. NOT to impressed with the music that was added in this title.

The use of two narrators is an improvement. Terrible English accent, a cross between Irish and Mancunian! The Morgan Freeman soundalike forces my mind to only see him in the character. I don’t understand breaking the narrative with so many chapters, that doesn’t help continuity. Overall the series is very enjoyable.

I’ve been working my way through the Alex Cross audiobooks and really loving them - great characters and great storylines, including this one.

On the last book ‘Cross’ I noticed the annoying inclusion of short clips of mood music... and then there’s the fact that sometime during 2005, the author clearly got sponsored by Mercedes as the descriptions of his new car read like an advert.

Double Cross comes across more like a radio play with two readers and more mood music - also more Mercedes adverts. I within an hour of the end of the book but actually gave up because the narrator’s English accent was so appalling that I found it literally unbearable - I’ve never given up on an audiobook before but this one has me beat - and it’s a real shame.

A great storyline but fatally flawed for me

As usual I loved the story but what’s with the addition of music to the narration? Terrible.
