Meet the Bensons. A pleasant enough couple. They keep themselves to themselves. They wash their car, mow their lawn and pass the time of day with their neighbours. And they have a beautiful little girl called Daisy.

Jackson Makes it a Hat Trick!

David Jackson has done it again. Another excellent story for his lead Nathan Cody featuring great drama, strong characters and another highly impressive reading by Jonathan Keeble. The first thing to say though is that having so many characters in one accent is tough for any narrator. I think Keeble does a cracking job of differentiating so many in what is clearly not his native accent. Some, I feel sure, are going to struggle to like them though so maybe the audio sample is a good starting point. In all other aspects the narration is simply top class without any reservations.

Assuming you are okay with the narration the story itself is a clever one with what I thought was an excellent twist at the end which although it was signalled throughout I simply never saw coming. Cody's back story does not progress a great deal which the previous book had strongly suggested was coming but structurally it would have been difficult to fit this into this story which occupies a fairly brief period of time. Jackson is going to make us wait for that back story to develop it seems.

In short it's another excellent thriller in the series, and oh dear it's another one I need to keep track of. Too many damn good authors too little time!

Creepy as hell but excellent story

I really enjoyed the previous books in this series but I think this is possibly the best so far. It's a pretty creepy theme but the story is well structured and the performance is excellent.

One of the best suspense books ever

Loved this book for the sense of foreboding and peril. Loved the characters of the girls and obviously root for Cody and Megan. All round great book read expertly by the best storyteller in the business Mr Keeble.

Highly recommended

Top marks !!

I listened to this book in the car. I found myself sitting waiting for the end of the chapter before I got out. I counted. I’ve listened to 62 audiobooks. This was one of the best ! Excellent twist at the end. I’m sorry it’s finished. Roll on the next book

great as ever

David Jackson has not disappointed. This 3rd book was brilliant, I had it read in the one day and I look forward until the 4th book. Jonathon Keeble did a fantastic job with the narration. I strongly recommend this book, so many twists and turns. A gripping read.

Like listening to The Archers

Found the narrator tried too hard with the performance. He's obviously excellent at reading but I would prefer listening to a straight read than one 'performed'. Too much huffing n puffing and funny voices. The story was okay, nothing revelatory. Would have liked more detective/procedural from this sort of book.

SURPRISE ENDING

without giving anything away the ending took the storyline to the last paragraph totally encapsulating fully believable. it still leaves that thread of unanswered questions re cody's past and leaves you wanting the next book

Slow

I found this book hard going, it was very slow moving and had way too much scene setting. I had to keep going back to it. Not enough police procedure. I've read the two previous ones, which I enjoyed better.

RIVETING

Can't wait till the next one. I laughed, cried and just could not put the book down. Jonathan Keeble can narrate like no other. All three of the Nathan Cody series are great. My hat is off to you David Jackson!!!

Best Book of the Series

Don't Make A Sound proved to be an excellent thriller in the Nathon Cody series--but not because of Cody. The emotional journey of one of the victims helped make this story compelling and hard to turn off; I HAD to get to the end (the very last 5 minutes of the book were the most disappointing). I like seeing another side of Blunt as well; she became more human in this story.

The reader Jonathan Keeble nailed all of the characters' personalities, and it's a pleasure to hear him read this series.

This book is definitely worth a listen.

Non-stop action. This was great.

That was fantastic! Quite a story and a fabulous narration.

Nathan Cody has demons. And they're clowns. I can actually relate to that fear but certainly not for the same reasons. This time, though, the terror is not caused by clowns but it's real and painful.

The story of the kidnapped girls grabbed me from the beginning and the high level of suspense/terror/mystery remained until the final paragraph. We learn more of Cody's team and their backstories and we're left with some unknowns that are just screaming for the next book. As am I. Waiting will be hard.

This book should be a movie!

I've read every book that he has written so far. Each one amazing. But, this is one of the greatest books I've ever listened to! It needs to be made in to a movie.

Gripping!

I have so looked forward to the next book by David Jackson and this did not disappoint. I was a little tentative about buying it because of the subject matter , children in jeopardy , always make me a bit queasy but the pace and plot of this book kept me glued to my iPod and there was a twist at the end!I love the characters in these books and of course Jonathan Keeble’s narration is second to none. Looking forward to the next installment
