Summary

After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them, or acknowledge them in any way, they leave her alone just like she wants.

When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention. Dominic is used to attention, and when he and his brothers move to Dublin, Ireland, for family business, he gets nothing but attention. Attention from everyone except the beautiful brunette with a sharp tongue.

Dominic wants Bronagh, and the only way he can get to her is by dragging her from the boxed off corner she has herself trapped in the only way he knows how...by force.

Dominic wants her, and what Dominic wants, Dominic gets.

Not great

I like the narrators voice, except when she's narrating male characters. They all sound like women, in fact they sound more feminine than the main character. I also find it alarming how many authors are normalising sexual harassment. Boys taking pictures of girls arses and touching them without permission is not acceptable at all, or in any circumstances. These really aren't things we should tell girls are okay. Dominic is a complete a*hole and I really don't know why Bronagh bothers with him.

loved it

popped my audio cherry. I have to say it's bloody brilliant. Hearing the Irish accent instead of making up in your head was totally awesome. the narrator was excellent, not stiff and robotic as I've heard from samples in the past. To fall for Dominic again was quicker with a voice. well done ladies well done.

YA- heroine was immature and turned me off.

This book had promise with the angst in the beginning despite it being a YA novel. However, the Heroine's immaturity soon turned me off of this book. Narrator's female voice was pleasant but her male voice was non- existent. I could not finish this book.

high school kids

Any additional comments?

Story itself pretty boring. Worse - it's all about high school students. Nowhere in the description did it say 'YA'.

YOU DON'T FORCE GIRLS TO KISS PEOPLE

1. It starts off funny but..I...I can't with forcing people to do kissing booths for school fundraisers, so many things in this book are just so...dated...and cringe inducing. I can't finish this, she's crushing on and making excuses for a kid who grabs her ass without her permission.

2. Thank God I read the reviews before I wasted too much time on this, I'm not into hearing about the love lives of kids.

Teen Dating Violence

This book normalizes and accepts teen dating violence. Romanticizing forced encounters and letting the aggressor get the girl.

Loved This book

I really loved this book. I wasn't quite sure if I would like it because of how young the H and h are. But it was awesome. I am so glad that I did. The Narrator is not my favorite for male parts. There is no voice variation actually she actually sounds more like girl for the male spoken parts. It's kind of weird. It didn't turn me off though but I didn't always know who was speaking because of it. Apart from this series I may stay away from any books narrated by Mia Ahern because of that. I really love her Irish accent though. This book would have been better with a male narrator who had better voice variation. Just my thought. Still a good book though. Enjoy!

I'm sorry

I'm sorry but it was really hard to enjoy this due to the narration. I could here her breathing and the when she voiced for Dominic she sounded too feminine. I feel bad for giving the low rating but I had to force myself to finish. Unfortunately I see it's the same narrator for the whole series so I don't think I'll continue.

#badboy#enemiestolovers#alphas

I loved this story. Dominic, the bad boy , moves to Ireland from the U.S. along with his four brothers all alphas and baaad boys! Dominic meets Bronagh in highscool (they’re both 18) and needless to say the don’t hit it off, are cruel and mean to each other in the beginning and this is mainly due to Bronagh’s nasty temperament. She has a chip the size of Ireland on her shoulders and takes everything as personal attack (at times was bit much) . This story has underground fighting, steamy sex (not too much) dangerous secrets the Slater brothers keep, some of which come out in this first book. My only complaint is the narrator, while she did GREAT with the females especially the Irish accents, her male voices made the MEN sound freaking 13 years old....before their voices change, no kidding. That was the only bummer but I got through the entire listen because the rest was AWESOME! I haven’t downloaded the others yet as I don’t think I can handle her male voice it really is a bad fit for the personalities of any of the guys.
I always try recommend similar books so I would say Fear Me, or Finding Kyler those have same kind of guys etc

Excellent story but difficult to listen to.

I loved the story and I really recommend reading it. But, the narrator didn’t even attempt to change her voice to a male tone. In essence the male lead sounded like a sassy 17 year old girl and it was cringe worthy at times. Her accent is awesome but I really couldn’t get into the story since the gruff male voice was that of a teenage girl.
