About this listen

Five classic novelisations of TV adventures featuring Cybermen, Yeti and Ice Warriors!

In Doctor Who and the Cybermen by Gerry Davis, a weather control station on the moon comes under attack from a deadly army of Cybermen. In Doctor Who and the Tomb of the Cybermen by the same author, a party of archaeologists uncovers a vast reserve of dormant Cybermen - who then come terrifyingly to life.

In Doctor Who and the Abominable Snowmen by Terrance Dicks, a lonely Himalayan monastery falls prey to powerful robotic Yeti.

Doctor Who and the Ice Warriors takes us to the future, when an alien from Mars is found preserved in a glacier.

In Doctor Who: Earthshock by Eric Saward, the Cybermen are intent upon sabotaging a galactic peace conference.

Read by Anneke Wills, Michael Kilgarriff, David Troughton, Frazer Hines and Peter Davison, with Cyberman voices by Nicholas Briggs, these stories feature the Second and Fifth Doctors.

WOW!!!.
My first purchase from Audible and an absolute corker.

Been a Doctor Who fan for 50+ years and thoroughly enjoyed my first foray into the audio adaptations of the classic Target book novelisations.Five stories are featured in this collection, four feature the 2nd Doctor (Patrick Troughton) and one featuring the 5th Doctor (Peter Davison).

Stories are:
Doctor Who and the Cybermen (The Moonbase)
Doctor Who and the Tomb of the Cybermen
Doctor Who and the Abominable Snowmen
Doctor Who and the Ice Warriors
Doctor Who: Earthshock

All the narrators did a great job telling these stories and the music and sound effects really add to the aural experience.

FIVE STORIES,21 HOURS OF LISTENING PLEASURE.

Cannot wait for my next credit, have already ordered Doctor Who 2nd Monsters Collection.

I highly reccomend this collection 5/5.

Excellent set of stories

With the dated effects of the old episodes, this may be the best way to enjoy the stories. There are occasional sound effects which enhance each story without being intrusive. The cybermen voices are particularly good.

I rated these books 4 stars overall. I really enjoyed the three cybermen stories and would rate them about 4.5 - 5 stars but the other two stories involving the Yeti and Ice Warriors slightly less at 3 stars.

Of the narrators, Peter Davison and Michael Kilgarrif stood out. Hopefully there will be a Dalek collection soon.

Great Cybermen stories

Every story in this collection was pure gold, both story wise and in the wonderful deliveries of the narrators

Doctor Who heaven

Great stories,
Let down by a truly terrible Scottish accent attempt by the narrator. Really bad.

Engaging story
