Summary

Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face.

She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband.

Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Tess has no choice but to accept her new life and hope her memory will return. After all, why should she doubt the letter she wrote to herself? Or the kind man from the wedding photos on her dresser who seems to genuinely care about her well-being?

And then Tess receives a text message on her phone. One that changes everything:

"Don’t trust the man who calls himself your husband."

Avid reader Jean

I loved this book but was rather annoyed by the retelling in every chapter of the same thing.Had a fascinating ending though .

Great book but...

this could have ended this so much better than it did. I was waiting to see tess memories return fully and hear her marry the man she was meant to all along and have kids and fill a beautiful house like they dreamed. disappointed with the ending 😕

Enjoyable

This was a fun book to listen too. I enjoyed the narrators voice and I felt the main characters frustration but the beginning is basically from the movie, 50 First Dates, so that bugged me a bit.
I still don’t know why she didn’t write everything down and hide it in her dogs collar but then again it wouldn’t be a story.
I do like this author and I love ‘The Housemaid’ this book isn’t as twisty and turns as that but still worth listening too.

Not one of her best

Couldn't really get into this, I love this author but some of her books are a bit 'samey' .... the wife in the attic or locked in a house and her controlling husband.
This was similar. It was just too far fetched. What happened to Camille who was supposed to be looking after her?
It was OK, but a tad boring and repetitive because of the nature of her head I jury.
I'll read more from this author but this is not one of her best 😕
