Summary
In ihrem ersten Buch "Die weiße Massai" erzählt Corinne Hofmann die Geschichte ihres vierjährigen Aufenthalts im Norden Kenias. Auf einer Urlaubsreise begegnet sie dem Samburu-Krieger Lketinga und verliebt sich in ihn. Sie entschließt sich bei ihm zu leben, verlässt ihren Lebensgefährten und zieht in den kenianischen Busch. Nach ihrer Heirat mit Lketinga wird ihre gemeinsame Tochter Napirai geboren und scheint das Glück der beiden zu krönen.
Das Alltagsleben im Samburu-Land verläuft jedoch nicht ohne Probleme. Lebensbedrohende Krankheiten, Hungersnot und schließlich nicht mehr überbrückbare kulturelle Konflikte machen dem Paar schwer zu schaffen. Nach vier Jahren des Zusammenlebens, in denen die Autorin "Himmel und Hölle" erfährt, kehrt Corinne Hofmann nach Europa zurück.
