Great reading!
I enjoyed a lot this book. It Is a nice coming of age magical adventure, with a strong female character discovering a whole new wold. The concept is not new but the author managed to created an original plot and so wonderful characters that it caught me. The splendid narration in the amazing voice of Ms Topscher increased the enjoyment. Just one critique...too short, so when it was getting interesting reached the end. I can't wait to read more about this Academy and Caroline adventures.

Intriguing new series
This is a brilliant introduction to a new supernatural academy series. The beautiful writing drew me in from the beginning of the story, although it is short it is packed full of intrigue and new relationships. The narration really brings this story to life.

Short but good.
I received this book free for an honest review.
Caroline gets home from school on her 16th birthday to find her mum and brother missing and there’s no sign of a scuffle.
Her Aunt Marguerite Destine arrives and takes her to an academy in France where she’s the headmistress .
Caroline then realises these are not your typical students and she has to come to terms that witches , wizards and other paranormals are real.
Enjoyed the narration by Melissa Topscher and looking forward to listening to more of the series.

A teasing temptation!
OMG, I was just getting my teeth into this book and it was suddenly finished! It teased my interest enough to want more, hopefully a longer taste next time, but I definitely want more, somecgreat narration by Melissa Topscher!

Short but adequate start to the series
Welcome to Destine - Home of the Elite and Exceptional..
It’s Caroline’s 16th birthday but instead of the planned surprised party awaiting her, Caroline returns home from school to find all traces of her mother and brother Justin gone and no signs of a struggle. Following a restless night in which Caroline fears the worst, she is bewildered the following morning when her aunt, Marguerite Destine who she hasn’t seen in five years, suddenly turns up out of the blue and announces that she’s taking her to France to live with her.
It transpires that her aunt is the headmistress of the prestigious Destine Academy. This is no ordinary school, however - it's home to four factions of magically talented individuals, each with their own set of special skills.
Before long, terrifying truths throw everything Caroline thought she ever knew into question. But is she ready for this new knowledge, or the potential dangers of this unfamiliar new reality?
Destine Academy is the first instalment of the Destine Academy series about a 16-year-old girl who is whisked off to an academy by her enigmatic aunt after her mother and brother suddenly disappear. Caroline lost her father five years earlier and as her next of kin, it falls to her aunt to take custodianship of her. The book, while relatively short, amply sets up the academy and how Caroline ends up enrolling there.
Caroline learns that there are four factions at the academy; the Magiques (alchemists, occultist, herbalists) the Voyante (oracles, seers) the Surnatural (those with superhuman powers) and the Metamorphe (shifters) It falls to Caroline to find her key, and determine which faction she belongs to.
This was an adequate start to the series which ends on a cliffhanger. Ideal for Teen/YA fans of academy books, witches, shifters, seers and mysteries etc
I received an advanced free audible copy of Destine Academy and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Melissa Topscher’s narration was warm, clear and concise with excellent pacing.
