Kelly’s account of her struggle with anxiety and of ‘people pleasing’ - to the detriment of her own wellbeing - left a huge impression on me.
I have the audible version of the book which she narrates herself in her distinctively calm, gentle and soothing voice.
It resonated with me on many levels as I too have journaled for most of my life and have boxes full of my notes on psychology, neuroscience, metaphors, articles, favourite quotes and poems I have written and others have penned. And all this because I felt different, like I didn’t fit in and often seemed out of step with the majority. Julie Walters summed it up perfectly in Educating Rita when she uttered the immortal words “there must be a better song to sing than this.”
So I am eternally grateful to Kelly for helping me to realise that I am not alone and that when we start to really listen, to understand and love our authentic selves we can forge our own way, the way that we were always meant to take through life.
Kelly’s poems are incredibly honest and thought provoking and her guidance on mindfulness, breathing techniques, meditation and other holistic interventions are very helpful. In particular, I love kelly’s guided meditation on the Chakras. I listen to it two or three times a week for the fascinating insights and moments of pure clarity it brings.

Kelly has such a beautiful way with words. Her meditations take you to a wonderful state of peace and calm. The poems that mark each chapter are beautiful words of raw emotion and honesty. She wonderfully captures the essence of what it feels like to be on a journey of inward reflection and awakening, with so many positive quotes, helpful tips, and mantras to guide the way and provide extra support and added reassurance.

This was my absolute favorite book of 2025! At a time when I was struggling with a lot of anxiety, this book provided immediate comfort and felt like a true blessing. The author’s voice is dreamy and nourishing—it truly feels like a warm hug in a mug.

I especially loved how the author combined beautiful poetry with personal stories. Those vulnerable moments made me feel so much more "normal" and less alone in my experiences. You can really feel the authenticity shining through every word. If you need a soothing escape or a reminder that you're okay, please read this!
