About this listen

A DEADLY FORCE STIRS… AND SHE IS THE KEY.

Paige Powers has always been overlooked, living in her brother’s shadow. But when a mysterious signal pulses from the desolate wasteland, she leaps into the unknown, risking everything for a chance to prove herself.

Gavin, brilliant and solitary, has only ever known logic. As danger tightens around Paige, he’s forced to confront a reality he can’t understand, and the cost of failure is unthinkable.

Zephyr is a prince bound by duty, but his dreams are plagued by a girl he has never met. A pull he cannot understand, a presence he cannot ignore, draws him toward her. And the consequences may be catastrophic.

Perfect for fans of epic YA romantasy, fated mates, and creeping danger that touches the soul. Step into a world where survival is only the beginning, and the bonds that awaken may save or destroy them all.

Fantastic! I really need to know when the second book will be coming out.
totally hooked from the start, action packed and just a good story. Well worth listening to the narrator was so good at telling the story.

The series is off to a fantastic start. Both characters have incredible powers that have fascinating uses. The world-building is Epic and the storyline is very well defined. Can't wait for book 2.

Amazing starter of a series. Really caught my attention and I look forward to more. There was just enough back story to the characters to keep me intrigued and wanting more. I would definitely recommend this series.

It's really rare for me to do this, and I'm sorry about it, but this is a DNF for me. The world and the premise of this story sound really intriguing (and are what caught my attention in the first place), and since this came recommended by a trusted Dystopian author, I thought I'd give it a go. Yes, there's language, but I was willing to overlook it since this enhanced Earth society seemed interesting, especially with the main characters (Paige and Gavin) being the kids from a Superior who rebelled against the higher-ups and created, in a way, a new society. However, I didn't know (read: it wasn't in the blurb or reviews) that Gavin was g4y. I debated whether to continue with this book, since, again, the plot is intriguing, the action hooks you from the first chapters, Gavin is a super genius and Paige has some really cool powers, but based on that aforementioned detail, I know I'm not the intended public for this story.

Also, a note on the narrator, he's really good with giving different voices to the characters, but maybe he could work a bit more on the female ones, though I guess you do end up getting used to it. His strength is clearly with the male voices since you automatically know who is speaking.

So, if you're looking for a dystopian read and do not have the same issues as me, I'm pretty sure this is the book for you.

Not for me
