As a caregiver of several family members with dementia, this book is a great resource. All of my family members differed in their symptoms and progress, but several of the warning signs in this book were there for them all. One family member had severe sundowners, and she would repeatedly call several family members in a panic or angry. As a caregiver, it's draining, and knowing how to respond to your loved one is crucial. This book is also needed for anyone taking care of a loved one with dementia as a tool for self-care.

Great resource for caregivers or anyone

The book is very well written with lots of useful advice for caregivers and families needing to know more. It is part a guide to the care of people and an explanation of the progressing of the disease. It is informative and sympathetic in its approach to this difficult condition. It is detailed and comprehensive enough, but it is human, real and approachable enough for family members to read and learn from. It is so important to understand what life is like for the person affected - and this book does a wonderful job to get this message across in detail. It is excellent.

Great addition!!!

I found the information on behavioral changes very helpful. I appreciated the tips on how to take care of myself as a caregiver. That is so important. If I don’t take care of myself, how will I take care of someone else? Also helpful for me were the examples of how to redirect the person’s attention to help calm them if they are agitated.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this audiobook if you are, or will be, taking care of a loved one with dementia.

A wealth of information!
