Summary

When pop megastar Zach Crystal dies in a fire at his remote mansion, his mysterious demise rips open the bitter divide between those who adored his music and his endless charity work, and those who viewed him as a despicable predator who manipulated and abused young and vulnerable girls.

Online journalist Scott King, whose Six Stories podcasts have become an internet sensation, investigates the accusations of sexual abuse and murder that were levelled at Crystal before he died. But as Scott begins to ask questions and rake over old graves, some startling inconsistencies emerge: was the fire at Crystal’s remote home really an accident? Are reports of a haunting really true? Why was he never officially charged?

Excellent

Another fantastic Matt Wesolowski six stories book. I’ve loved every one so far. The only critique I would have is that I now have to wait for the next one

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

BRAVO.

I love love love this series and have been waiting for this book to drop for what seams like an age. When I spotted it on my recommended book list, I did a happy dance, unplugged the phone, packed my son of to his dads for the weekend and set up camp in my bedroom locked and loaded for a full on binge fest.

Matt, you are a master. I have loved each book in the series, it's uniqueness and originality and I have to say, this is my favourite and I can't wait for more.
From creation, gritty writing, production and cast, Matt creates the perfect storm, it sucks you up into its slip stream and keeps you in the eye of the storm till the end. Leaving you feeling a bit windswept and disoriented when it's over.

The storyline is clever, disturbing and thought provoking. Eerie similarities to real life cases of a similar nature definitely made me pause.

I dont want to comment on the storyline any further, no spoilers from me.
You won't be able to put it down.

Another round of applause is well deserved for the cast, fantastic performances by all, They make the story and characters come alive, The characters feel so real that I often found myself wanting to jump into the conversation. I felt every emotion between pity to rage and had to remind myself it wasn't real.

Ok enough superfan gushing! A great story, very well told. My only criticism if you could even call it that, is that its over and I wish there was a new one every week. In the meantime I'm going to go back to the start and listen to each book again (something I never do).

Highly recommend this and the rest of the books in the series.

Congratulations Matt x

Good story let down by some bad narration.

I've read all the Six Stories series and have enjoyed each book.
Given that they are written in the format of a series of podcasts, I thought that the Audible versions would work well.
I'm now working my way through them and have to say that, to my surprise, this doesn't appear to be the case.
First of all, the main narrator (Scott King) changed after the third book - which was a little jarring.
However, many of the narrations worked well - but some didn't.
I'm reviewing this one because the "interview broadcast recording" is particularly dire - it's so obvious that the female narrating the part of the interviewer is changing her voice to try to sound like the (male) interviewee - very amateurish! Given that this is supposed to be a recording of a live broadcast, a little more dramatisation would have been in order for this section!
Having said that, these are still good stories and have the power to keep you listening - if you can grit your teeth during the less professional narrations, you will still enjoy them.
I just wish the producers had found some more convincing narrators

Not your usual audio book.

I'm not sure if this form of story telling works best on the page or as an audio book. The audio format has obvious advantages and the cast do an excellent job.

The premise of "Six Stories" is that six accounts of the same event are presented. All differ, often contradict, but none of the people recounting their tales are lying and they all believe their accounts absolutely.

Very dark story concerning child abuse, celebrity (think JS and MJ) and the supernatural.

If you have a spare credit, give it a go. You will either love it or hate it. I loved it.

Why the missing star for "Overall"? I feel it would make an excellent read on the page, an equally excellent radio play, but I think the audio book was in danger of falling somewhere between the two.

Pretty good

Started really well but I lost a bit of interest towards the end, not quite as good as the other books in this series. Overall it was good though

Had it’s good parts but the ending is so obvious..

Big fan of the Six Stories series. However, to me the ending was just obvious! Was anyone actually surprised at this ending? So yeah, that was disappointing.
If your a fan of the series you’ll probably still enjoy it, i enjoyed the entertainment of it. Just wished there was a bit more here as the whole time i just found it obvious what was going on.

Another greatest one

I’ve enjoyed every one of these and was very excited when this came out. Great story I just wish they hadn't had a new voice actor for Scott King
