Summary

The United States' approach to China since the Communist regime in Beijing that began the period of reform and opening in the 1980s was based on a promise that trade and engagement with China would result in a peaceful, democratic state.

Forty years later, the hope of producing a benign People's Republic of China utterly failed. The Communist Party of China deceived the West into believing that its system and the Party-ruled People's Liberation Army were peaceful and posed no threat. In fact, these misguided policies produced the emergence of a 21st century Evil Empire even more dangerous than a Cold War version in the Soviet Union.

Successive American presidential administrations were fooled by ill-advised pro-China policymakers, intelligence analysts, and business leaders who facilitated the rise not of a peaceful China but of a threatening and expansionist nuclear-armed communist dictatorship focused on a single overriding strategic objective: weakening and destroying the United States of America.

Defeating the United States is the first step for China's current rulers in achieving global supremacy under a new world order based on an ideology of Communism with Chinese characteristics.

Deceiving the Sky: Inside Communist China's Drive for Global Supremacy details the failure to understand the nature and activities of the dangers posed by China and what the United States can do in taking needed steps to counter the threats.

Time to wake up America

This book should be required reading for all young adults. What our leadership did over the last forty years in putting a blind eye to China’s aggression is deplorable. Time to wake up America, before it’s too late.

Boring. Naive. One-Sided. Amateur.

The book is too much for readers or listeners. The author is like a College student doing his regular class presentation. He just gathered; copied; pasted information widely available online; and put everything together in one book under his name; and took the credit. His hatred to China and the Chinese people is understandable. But his so-called Deceiving The Sky is too much one-sided and unjustified. I wouldn't pay for this. Already asked for Full Refund.

Eye Opening

In regards the CCP, the US has been wandering in the international desert for 40 years. Deceiving The Sky is eye opening to the life and culture altering threat the CCP poses to the Western way of life. Specifically targeting the United States for dismantling, the CCP must be considered untrustworthy and an imminent threat. Most highly recommend Deceiving The Sky.

Hard going

I’ve spent a lot of time on audible over the last year or two. Primarily listening to geopolitical themes and specifically about S/ SE Asia. I have a genuine love for this subject. However, this book has taken my nearly 5 months to finish. Normally I would’ve finished a book within a month, through commuting or travelling, light exercise etc. Covid must have played a part in it, but I could not bring myself to listen to this book. It didn’t capture the usual passion I have. Proceed with caution with this one! It may take longer than you think. Enjoy

Some interesting stories, but heavily biased.

I appreciated hearing the perspective. However, since the book was so heavily biased and clearly had a political agenda, it was hard to support it 100%. A more balanced and less opinionated approach to the topic and writing style may have been more convincing.

A Precise Account for China's Evil Leadership

Excellent facts, timeline, awareness and most importantly, a plan to quell China's evil plan to rule the world with communism. I didn't care for the narrator but that's just an opinion.
