About this listen

From the multi-million copy bestselling author comes a chilling tale about life flashing before your eyes—including terrifying scenes you don’t remember.

When Damon survives a near-drowning, his life flashes before his eyes. Every memory is crystal clear—except one. A dead boy. A face he can’t place. A moment he doesn’t remember living. At first he tells himself it’s a trick of the mind. But everything else he saw was real. So why not this?

With his waking life stalked by the disturbing scene, confusion quickly turns to obsession. Desperate for answers, Damon digs into his fractured past, and becomes convinced that the only way to remember…is to die again. And again. And again. When he meets a perfect stranger who’s all too willing to help, the stage is set for his dice with death.

But if this is what it takes to uncover the truth, maybe some memories are better left buried…

I love this author so much and his books usually have me hooked, this one however was a tad bleak, even for me! I didn’t really like a single character in the book and it was a bit of a gloomy premise, so I was glad when it ended! It started off great and then it was dark and gloomy, the ending was a bit abrupt too. It won’t put me off reading another of his books, but this one was too sad and dark for me sadly.

Dark and gloomy…

Wow just wow, another 5 stars from me for John Marrs . I devour his books and never want them to end. I was actually craving a new one from him and this did not disappoint me. What a fascinating mind he has. Someone recommended I re listen to the “Good Samaritan “ before this new one, it’s not a necessity but I’m really glad that I did. The character Laura has to be one of my favourites.

Absolutely amazing as always

I am not very good at focusing so I had to really stay on this plot and listen as every chapter was filled with insight

I really loved this book ! So cleverly written and I never would have guessed the ending - wow a must to listen too

So many twists and surprises

There were some good plot twists and unexpected surprises but with some predictability in the story arc. However a very enjoyable listen worthy of a purchase, made easy by the performance of the readers. Would recommend.

Some decent twists and turns in the plot.

Marrs is my favourite author and this one does not disappoint. No one writes unlikeable characters like him.
