very enjoyable.
The books are too short so I've binge listened to all of them in sequence. Jonathan Keeble is an excellent reader that combined with really good writing and very good characters makes this series well worth a listen.

Really Like this series but ...
I read the book first. Jonathan Keeble's narration is really good for Tom and the other male characters - but do not like him narrating women (male voice makes them sound a bit like pantomime dames!!.
I have read all of this series and enjoyed them all - but the women are becoming a bit irritating to read. All bossy and 1 dimensional for me!

A bit samey
Brilliantly narrated as always but nothing memorable in this one - has the series run out of oomph?

“Simply the best......
.......Better than all the rest” - of Durrant’s Calladine & Bayliss novels. The plot and sub plots were far clearer. The best thing by far about this series, is the reading of Jonathan Keeble. I cannot praise him enough in his renditions. He would even make the reading of a telephone directory interesting. Many thanks Mr. Keeble.

*Another Page Turner*
This instalment is jam packed, following the departure of the previous DCI we see DI Calladine as acting DCI which he hates. His name was put forward to fill the post on a permanent basis but Calladine much prefers to be out in the field in the thick of things and not bogged down by paperwork.
Well his replacement is the freakishly neat, and difficult to get on with DCI Greco.
The case has multiple elements going on, there is murder, bearing all the hallmarks of a newly released convict, kidnapping including a member directly related to Calladine, not to mention drugs and cyber attacks on companies
As usual Tom’s love life is chaos but Ruth love life changes and she is fighting an attraction to a new member
Calladine has a hunch who the killer is and he is hiding in plain sight which puts a team member in danger, will Calladine and his team save the day…..
