Summary
Protocol is made to not be followed. At least, that is how Me'ira feels, as being a princess sometimes makes her feel too confined. Breaking protocol brings initial happiness, but leads to unwanted consequences and heartbreak she did not intend to cause. While her father is the prince who leads the world in worship of the king, she discovers the man she has fallen in love with is tied to a prophecy that may put her father in danger.
Her father initially tells her that protocol forbids her and the man she loves to marry. This is too much for Me'ira to take, so she comes up with a plan of her own to both protect her father as well as preserve her happiness. Yet, she finds her plan becomes harder to implement than she envisioned.
