Summary

No matter how smart, rich and powerful you are, to achieve the goal you need to enter the Academy of Magic on the Planet Tix.

Let every moment spent within the walls of this institution be deadly, but only here an ambitious applicant will be able to get those community ties, knowledge, and skills that will help him to ascend to the very top of his social position.

Therefore, all the talented youth from the Belt of the Worlds take the entrance examinations to the Academy annually. Representatives of the lower clans arrive in the capital these days for the merciless spectacle: tests of applicants, and for risky bets on the sweepstakes.

Can Yar Row Dark pass the test, study and graduate from the Academy if only one of the thousands of accepted students reaches the graduation ceremony? We will find out soon.

The translation is killing it

Ok, we all know that this author is skilled and the story has true potential. The problem I have is with the translation, its just done so poorly that it gives the impression the author could not write succinctly. I really found it challenging to keep track with the storyline and often found myself rewinding to try and understand what was said and implied as the translation just broke it up to much. I am seriously debating whether or not to end it hear for this story as I dont know if I can pay more money for another poorly translated book.

Error in description

Did you read the summary of this audiobook and become excited to see you would finally get to hear about Yar and his adventures at the Dark Academy? Well oops. This description of the book is completely incorrect. It may have been done in error but the only time Yar is anywhere near the Academy is by chapter 55 at the END OF THE BOOK. Unfortunately with that being said the story is not terrible. What takes so much away from the book is the narrator. With the odd tendencies to rapidlyreadeverythinginasinglebreath, or the odd. pauses...that...makes..you...feel the narrator is having to look close at the words and squint while tilting his head to the left, it takes much away from the story. Often times I found myself zoning out or becoming startled because of the feeling much of the story was skipped over somehow and you cant follow how you got from A to B. Overall kind of disappointed but pushed through to the end anyways.

Voice actor needs more spark...

I liked the voice actors in the first book..they seemed to have more inflection and passion for the material. This voice actor lacked inflection and passion for the material..he actually reminded me of a high school teacher in their last year before retirement, laconic without drive or inflection...please bring back the spark...good series otherwise.
