Story
"Sometimes I want to spend hours talking with my best friends about boys and fashion and school and life. I want to go to the gym; I want my hair to look nice; I want to be allowed to wear jeans. I want to be a normal young woman living in America, sometimes. But I want other things more. All the time. I want to be spiritually and emotionally filled every day. I want to be loved and cuddled by a hundred children and never go a day without laughing.

Story
A fresh, challenging and compassionate response to busyness, based on the way of life Jesus offered his disciples. Who are you becoming? That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. By outward metrics, everything appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren't pretty. So he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: 'Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life.' It wasn't the response he expected, but it continues to be the answer he needs.

Story
One woman's struggle against the darkness of Hong Kong's drug dens. Until it was pulled down, the Walled City was Hong Kong's most foreboding territory. It was a lawless place, dominated by the Triads, and which the police hesitated to enter. Strangers were unwelcome. Drug smuggling and heroin addiction flourished, as did prostitution and pornography, extortion and fear. When Jackie Pullinger set sail from England in 1966 she had no idea that God was calling her to the Walled City.

Story
The dramatic autobiography of one of China's dedicated, courageous, and intensely persecuted house church leaders. This is the gripping story of how God took a young, half-starved boy from a poor village in Henan province and placed him on the front line for Jesus, in the face of impossible odds. Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to focus on the character and beauty of Jesus.

Summary
How do you hold on to hope
when you don't get the ending
you asked for?
When Katie Davis Majors moved to Uganda, accidentally founded a booming organization, and later became the mother of 13 girls through the miracle of adoption, she determined to weave her life together with the people she desired to serve. But joy often gave way to sorrow as she invested her heart fully in walking alongside people in the grip of poverty, addiction, desperation, and disease.
After unexpected tragedy shook her family, for the first time Katie began to wonder, Is God really good? Does he really love us? When she turned to him with her questions, God spoke truth to her heart and drew her even deeper into relationship with him.
Daring to Hope is an invitation to cling to the God of the impossible - the God who whispers his love to us in the quiet, in the mundane, when our prayers are not answered the way we want or the miracle doesn't come. It's about a mother discovering the extraordinary strength it takes to be ordinary. It's about choosing faith no matter the circumstance and about encountering God's goodness in the least expected places.
Though your heartaches and dreams may take a different shape, you will find your own questions echoed in this book. You'll be reminded of the gifts of joy in the midst of sorrow. And you'll hear God's whisper: Hold on to hope. I will meet you here.

Don’t miss this sequel
If you read part one, you must read this one too. The first was exciting and inspirational especially for those at a crossroad and ready for a new adventure. This one is heartfelt and strengthening especially for those already on their adventure facing the pain and battle in the long road of faithful mission with an unfailing God. Thank you Katie!

Loved it! Pre-ordered. Looked fwd to listen to it.
Could not wait to listen to Katie's 2nd book after listening to her 1st book. I could not stop listening to either books, beginning to end.
Both books so ministered to me. Although I live in the US, NY. I see many people love Jesus but are not on the straight and narrow path with Him (rather appear luke warm). Katie is. I believe I am. This is why I could relate to Katie's story in so many ways. Encouraged me, I'm not alone. On the right path with Jesus. To keep my heart and eyes on Him. Keep pressing forward. No matter how hard it gets at times via counting the cost for Christ Jesus as He has called me too.
Excellent audio book.
Thank you Katie, for being you in the Lord! I love who you are in Christ Jesus.

Listen on at least 2x speed
I was so looking forward to this book. I pre ordered it and everything. I couldn’t wait to hear the next chapter but I hate to say I didn’t love it. This felt more bible study than story.
The narrator was just sooo slow. Like pulling teeth. I listened to 90% of the book on 2x speed and 5% on 2.5x. Painful to listen to at Normal speed.

God glorifying
Absolutely beautiful. Katie’s transparency and vulnerability is beautiful. Such powerful reminders that God’s happy endings do not always look like our happy endings. He receives the glory and I praise Him better because of this book.

Inspiring
This book challenged me to trust God in my dark places. I have found myself denying God's calling on my life because it cost me to much. it cost me my safety, security and comfort. it required me to be fierce and selfless. I convinced myself I had done enough. But God used this book to hold and comfort my fearful soul. He showed me He was enough. He would provide all that I needed top complete His will in my life. Thank you God.

Uplifting and empowering book of faith and hope
Very well done. Thought provoking. Finding hope when things are hard is tricky. I listened to this book while my family was having its own struggles and it inspired me to find God in our pain . To continue to hope and believe in his plan. Thank you Katie for sharing your story.

Amazing!
This book was filled with stories of Katie’s life and of the Bible! It was almost more of a devotional because of the stunning rays that she incorporated God’s Word into her book.
