About this listen

A scared teenager on the run. An infant child some say is humanity's savior. A former lover whose life is now hobbled by a terrible secret. A law partner accused of a horrible crime. A city being overcome by an inscrutable menace. They need a guardian. Someone to protect them. Someone with faith in them. They need Daredevil.

This audio adaptation kinda trimmed down on the pace and dialogue as well as omitting plot points connected to the main story. Still, it was good that Kevin Smith created a one-of-a-kind graphic novel that delved into the Man Without Fear's personal psyche.

Bit ahead of its time

Was a GraphicAudio customer for some years and was disappointed to find that the "movie in your mind" concept for Marvel productions had stopped. Now, however, I'm once more a happy camper as the titles seem to have made their way to Audible via Dreamscape.

This title, then, is well produced. It is an audio-drama than an audiobook. Nevertheless, this kind of story, I think, benefits from this treatment. Only criticism is that the title is a little short.

This is the perfect Daredevil experience.

A blind character existing in an almost exclusively visual medium means that those who can identify and relate to him are often robbed of experiencing those stories. And so, such a brilliant adaptation of the visual medium to the auditory deserves the highest praise.

This is a seminal moment for Daredevil, performed beautifully by the cast, and adapted 1:1 faithfully from the original book.

It is incredibly difficult for most audio drama adaptations of Comics to not make several changes or alterations to the book or story being adapted to fit the different medium. Here, everything is kept, and everything works. I truly cannot impress upon you how perfect annd faithful this adaptation is.

While it mostly only works if you have a comprehensive understanding of Daredevil & his mythos going in - that is moreso a commentary on the original story & it's place in the cultural zeitgeist at it's time of release in the 90s.

Everybody's performances are incredible and make you truly empathise with the characters. Even smaller details like Spider-Man's voice having some slight muffle due to the fact he wears a mask floored me with their inclusion.

I could go on, but that would take time away from you listening to this. Do it, trust me.

Incredible all round
