Using a credit - this is the one to buy!
It gets a little confusing looking at the Dan Dare audiobooks; which one to buy, head scratch? If you are using an Audible ‘credit’, this one!
This is Season 1, which contains both Volume 1 + 2; a total of 6 episodes, a documentary and the music of Dan Dare. Wasn’t interested in listening to the music, just skipped it (36 minutes).
A fun romp around space, no complicated storyline to follow. Will definitely listen to any future episodes. It’s a grower, enjoyed it more as I went through the episodes. It even has Heida Reed who plays Peabody - Elizabeth from BBC’s Poldark.
The ‘only’ criticism is that it appeared as if the actors were recorded in individual booths, probably due to productions reasons/ the availability of actors, and then the vocals entwined together. This resulted in ‘heavy dialogue’ parts coming across more as joined sound bites, also the gap between vocals seemed the same so made the conversation sound unnatural.
Hope that B7 media produce some more :)

Not My Dan Dare
I was hoping for new stories for the classic characters but I was disappointed. The writer seems to have taken the titles of the original stories and vaguely retold them with characters that correspond in name only to the originals, not understanding that the charm of the stories comes from ripping space yarns told about characters with 40s/50s style and sensibilities.
Dan Dare in name only.

Not as good as the Eagle originals.
Was disappointed with this adaptation. Can't fault the performances as they are first rate but the stories lack the punch I remember from Dan Dare's adventures in The Eagle. Although even further removed from the original the animated adventures of Dan Dare explore the characters much better than this and is a better buy.

Outstanding adaptation and performance
Dipping into the past to bring to a new generation something that worked well before does not always work. Thunderbirds(Movie) and the Green Hornet(Movie) to name but to, but the list is quite long. This, however, is the exception. Great story, great acting and a perfect balance of special sound effects. I can't wait for the next one!

A Real Pleasure
A true British hero with the accent to go. This is the character Ace Rimmer must have been based on but with more depth and development. With the unswerving morals of Captain American and the stiff upper lip of Richard Burton, a true pleasure hearing the cast take Britain into space to face the dastardly Mekon.
