Summary

The latest title from the internationally bestselling author and foster carer Cathy Glass.

Beth is a sweet-natured child who appears to have been well looked after. But it isn't long before Cathy begins to have concerns that the relationship between Beth and her father is not as it should be.

Little Beth, aged 7, has been brought up by her father Derek after her mother left when she was a toddler. When Derek is suddenly admitted to hospital with psychiatric problems, Beth is taken into care and arrives at Cathy's. Beth and her father clearly love each other very much and Derek spoils his daughter, treating her like a princess, but there is something bothering Cathy, something she can't quite put her finger on.

Meanwhile Cathy's husband is working away a lot and coming home less at weekends. Then, suddenly, everything changes. Events take a dramatic turn for both Beth and Cathy and her family; as Cathy strives to pick up the pieces all their lives are changed forever.

Brilliant!

A brilliant account yet again made by Cathy. A good foster career who is a true inspiration. So glad Beth was able to go back to her dad etc. I never new there was such an illness as this. it needs to wildly made known and made aware that it exists. To help others. Well done Cathy!!! Ok

Well written and engaging

Cathy Glass's fostering memoirs are well written and very moving. I love the little details Cathy gives tkhat has made me fall in love with each and every child she writes about and her own family. I have listened to every book at least 3 times. They give an insight into the world of fostering, adoption and parenting that has, I believed made me a better teacher and parent - more patient, more understanding and generally more aware. Along with other fostering memoirs, these books have inspired my mum to consider a fostering carer and I hope to foster once my own children are older. Thank you Cathy and Demica.

Another Great Read (all be it a sad one!)

I think I have now read everyone of Cathy Glass books and every one is an emotional, eye opening read and gives anyone who is thinking of fostering a real in-site into the fostering world! Cathy is an amazing woman and I truly do admire her love and commitment she gives to the children she has fostered. The narration is brilliant and captures the personality of both Cathy and her children so well.

Daddy's little princess

Again a fabulous story with brilliant narration, as I have not read the books in any particular order I had often wondered what lead to Cathy's divorce and have come to the conclusion that she is in far to much control, I reacted with a lot more passion when my husband had an affair and wanted a divorce. Screaming like a banshee may not be helpful but with no kids around it would have helped and made her feel better.
