The characters are around 30 but they are both shy and nervous around the other. Making them seem younger than they are. I kind of enjoyed the fact that he wasn’t sporting a 6 pack and hard muscles everywhere, it made him seem real to me. Narration was good.

Decent " known ya my whole life and loved you just as long" kinda book. Nothing stands out as OMG amazing but it was entertaining.

This is a fabulous, small town, friends to lovers, romance and the despite the book being on the shorter it packs a lot of story, a charming and heartfelt story. This is my first book written by this author, I enjoyed her writing style and the characters and storylines she created, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. The story drew me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire time, it tugged on my heartstrings as well. Jensen returned to his hometown and opened his own bar, which is doing well. A guy on the husky side, he was used to being overlooked and watched his friends get all the girls, he was even their wingman getting them their girls. But when it comes to Bailey, he will not be a wingman for anyone, including his good friend. He has always had a thing for her, but never found the right moment or the courage to tell her so. I loved watching these two get to know each other better and finally open up to how they felt and shared their own insecurities, I thought they were perfect together and for each other. This charming and beautifully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Karla Doyle, thank you for this enjoyable and wonderfully entertaining story.

Banks set the perfect tone for the story, captured the character’s emotions and projected them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. I loved this book. Jensen is home after 12 years and is know as a teddy-bear guy women lean on, the wingman

Since elementary school, he has been in love with Bailey. She walks into his bar and he no longer wants to be the wing man. Bailey is being brave and flirts with the man she has always cared for , but feels she is not good enough for him.

The chemistry and heat. Heads up there is steam . Loved

I liked the concept with the appeal of the "dad bod", but I think the novella length just feels rushed to me. I'd recommend it to those who like novellas.
