L'espressione cyber spionaggio si riferisce infatti al furto di informazioni riservate immagazzinate in formato digitale o in computer e reti informatiche. Lo spionaggio informatico internazionale si è convertito in uno dei problemi più importanti e interessanti del mondo contemporaneo. Un fenomeno che sembra essere passato direttamente dalla fantascienza alla realtà, condizionandola in maniera sensibile. Anche se la vita dei cittadini comuni non sembra essere condizionata da questi eventi, i costi per le nazioni cominciano a diventare significativi.
