Summary

Loved every moment
Listening to both books whilst working. Finished both too quickly. I wish there could be another book ok so I can re-visit the character’s. The story was so addictive and narrated perfectly. Thank you so much for such incredible work x

A good sequel
In "Cured" by Bethany Wiggins, the haunting memories of a world untouched by the honeybee virus linger in Jacqui's mind, casting shadows of a time when life wasn't marred by the transformation of children into beasts and the rise of power-hungry raiders.
The sequel unfolds against the backdrop of Jacqui's reminiscence, painting a poignant contrast between her past joy and the grim reality she faces. Before the need to disguise herself as a boy and embark on a quest to find her missing brother, Jacqui savors the nostalgia of carefree moments, relishing her long hair and indulging in the simple pleasure of devouring cake.
In this harsh new world Jacqui must pose as a boy to avoid abduction by loathsome raiders. And so, as Jack she enlists Fiona and Jonah Tarsis to aid in her quest, joined by Fiona's devoted boyfriend, Bowen. Yet, amid their journey, a revelation shatters Jacqui's world anew: her companions possess the coveted cure, a secret withheld from her. Great sequel - still think the performance left a lot to be desired
I listened to this straight after the first in the series, and again, I thought the story was good and kept me interested, but I really wasn’t keen on the narration. I was disappointed that it was the same performer as the first book; it took some getting used to as this one is told from another person’s perspective. She sounds very robotic and almost bored in places, which did impact on my enjoyment.
Having said that, it is still a good listen from the plus catalogue.

non swearing interesting story
Cool story, how bees was the beginning of the end of us the writing showcases, how to incite fear and excitement without swearing.
