About this listen
I was destined to find them. To face my demons and heal.
** Not a Shifter/Omegaverse **
Zero (Gio)
I can’t seem to get anything right. Failure after failure. I’m really struggling here. I’ve loved Cole for years, hiding away my feelings from him. But taking care of him is more important than my feelings. I can never seem to get it right, and I’m losing a part of myself. But when Cueball takes us in out of the goodness of his heart when we’re at our most desperate, I start discovering myself again. The old me who laughed and enjoyed life. Now, I find myself loving not one man, but two.
Zilch (Cole)
I have a new purpose in life. After ruining our lives, I have a chance to bring happiness back to Gio and me. I’ll always be a bit broken, but I’ve come to accept that. It’s Gio and Cueball who need me the most, my grump and grumpier. They both need healing and love. And I do love them. I can give that to them. I want to give that to them. This is how I heal, too.
Cueball (Marco)
Zero and Zilch are my chaos gremlins. They’ve upended my life and have torn down my walls. For years, I’ve maintained my self-control, keeping my pain neatly tucked away. Now that’s all been shattered, and I have no one to blame but myself. Zero and Zilch, my Double-Z, have broken me down and are building me back up. Perhaps it’s time to face my demons. For the first time in years, I want someone in my life. I want them, but I’m afraid.
This is the fifth and last book in a series, but like all my books, it can be listened to as a standalone.

Most importantly..As an adult who has lived my life with Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, Autism and selective mutism in younger years I can’t begin to describe how much I appreciate Courtney’s representation of Mental Health disorders and disabilities. It’s honestly some
of the best I’ve ever read and that goes for many of her books, not just this series! The only thing I can truly enjoy when I need to focus is reading & listening to Audio so for me a good book is genuinely a lifeline at times and it helps when you find an Author you can rely on to keep you fixated and focused. That’s what Courtney’s writing does for me!
Anyway.. to avoid any spoilers I will keep this simple.. we’ve seen how Cueball (Marco) kinda keeps his distance and is in the background throughout most of the series..then in come Gio and Cole 🥰 while it’s a slow burn and sad in lots of places it’s the kind of book that breaks your heart and then mends it. These 3 pure souls just belong together and while it’s obvious it’s not a fix-all and healing will be an ongoing process it’s a very satisfying joining of 3 men who come from painful pasts (and present tbh) who can open up, let go of some of the hurt and rely on each other for support and comfort. Was so nice to catch up with the others too 💜. The found family in this series is done perfectly. I enjoy lots of genres/tropes in MM, but I do have a huge soft spot for good representations of poverty and inequality - and it’s done so well here!
As usual Harley is outstanding!

I always say listening to a book that I have read has me picking up different things and this was no different. I can feel the anger Gio had, how he felt a failure, how Cole blamed himself, his frustration with trying to speak. Bur slowly these three men heal each other.
This is the end of the series but for me these stories live on in my heart and mind.

Story - 4.5 stars. A wonderful way to end this excellent series, with really different characters and dynamics again when compared to the previous books. Each of the three MCs struggled with grief, guilt, and mental health struggles very differently, which led to them being able to support the others in alternative ways. I particularly liked that despite Zero and Zilch having known each other much longer, they only started a relationship when the three met - not one extra joining an established couple. The amount of honest communication was impressive. The last epilogue rounded the entire series off really well.
excellent
