I liked this audiobook very much. It achieves what it sets out to do. Points are made well and in a way that makes it easy to absorb them. The content will be particularly useful to anyone new to guitar playing; but many who are playing already will also find that they can learn from it. The narrator, Oliver Hunt, speaks clearly and at a pace and in a manner well suited to the material. This is a good alternative to the print version (which I also have) for those who prefer to gain information by ear rather than by eye. I recommend it without hesitation.

This is the perfect introduction to the whats and hows of guitar playing. It answered all my questions including in relation to the choice of guitar models and materials to suit every budget, playing styles and effects, the best way to learn guitar (through personal lessons, a guitar couse or teaching yourself), and how to look after your instrument, with plenty of tips from Steve’s own lengthy playing career. The audible narration is a pleasure to listen to and the writing is a model of clarity.

Crucial Guitar Basics is a perfect introduction to the guitar.
This audio book is nicely narrated, easy listening and a perfect introductory guide to selecting and learning to play the guitar.

A fantastic little book for beginners such as myself who have been thinking of learning to play. I found the guidance provided to be comprehensive and very helpful, even in making those initial decisions between acoustic or electric (I went for acoustic).
