Summary

History isn't always what it seems....

Twelve months after his change, Alec MacAidan is still getting used to his many vampire talents. While most vampires would give anything to have more than one supernatural power, Alec craves nothing more than peace and time alone with Cronin. But when Alec meets entities from outside this realm, he's left powerless in their presence.

Zoan are half-lycan, half-dragon creatures that have slipped through time and reality, seemingly undetected by man and vampire. Or have they? They bear an uncanny resemblance to gargoyles, leaving Alec's view on all things weird to get a whole lot weirder.

This new quest leads Alec, Cronin, and their band of friends to Paris, Rome, and Moscow, where they learn that gargoyles aren't simply statues on walls. In the underground pits beneath churches all over the world, Alec discovers the Key's true destiny. Facing the Zoan might take every talent he has. And he may need help from the dead to get them all out alive.

Fabulous

A wonderful book made AWESOME by Joel Leslie's incredible narration. So many different voices and accents all easily distinguishable. I sobbed over Horhae and Idelmo, more than when I read it myself. This series is so very recommended!

I don't want it to be over!

This has been an awesome series. I hope N. R. will consider continuing it. I know she has other brilliant books. Cronin and Alec just grabbed at my heart. I love their entire team.

A Great Ending...

There are two things about this series that I found intriguing and enticing...the way in which the author, N. R. Walker intertwined history into the story and presenting it as plausible and the dynamic narrative talents of Joel Leslie. From the beginning, the reader/listener longed to have happily ever after for Alec and Cronin, which the ending seems to suggest that they received their HEA, for at least 250 plus years. This story makes one look at gargoyles in a different light and allows one to travel all over the world, again. A great finish to the series and a great series for one to get lost in the plausible possibilities.

An action-filled trip.

A great series that is excellent in both audio and written form. But it is also an amazing opportunity to hear the many voices of Joel Leslie. The variety of accents and character types that he portrays in this story is phenomenal and he handles each one like the master he is.

another great episode!

Alec has gained many powers, not just one after his transformation. He begins seeing things others can’t and time seems to stop when he does. Alec, Cronin, and all of their of friends head to Paris, Rome, and Moscow, where they learn that gargoyles aren’t simply statues. Beneath churches all over the world, Alec discovers the Key’s true destiny.
Just when you think a story can’t get better… it does. This shocking episode in Cronin’s key will leave you on the edge of your seats, bring tears to your eyes and though it seems to be a series finale… leaves you wanting more!
I was so happy to get to see Jorge again (the cute yet creepy child vampire) and how much he contributes to this story.
Joel Leslie brings each character such fabulous voice and accents and his pacing and excitement when needed adds so much to the story you should really give it a listen!
