About this listen

The murder of a popular surgeon, a fatal mistake in a critical care unit, and anonymous threats challenge an ICU nurse's idealistic ambitions. She finds herself caught up in a health care system that prioritizes profit over ethics and patient safety. Critical Cover-Up, a psychological thriller, delves into a mysterious murder of a prominent surgeon, cover-ups, and malpractice in a place known for saving lives.

Allison Jamison abandoned a lucrative real estate career to become a nurse and be able to impact others' lives during their most vulnerable times. When she accepts a job in a critical care unit at a prominent Florida hospital, corrupt practices threaten to shatter her illusions. An element of evil lurks just beneath the surface and around corners in a place typically known for saving lives. Stifled by hospital politics, she must find a way to expose the wrongdoers, even if it means risking her job and maybe even her life.

I got this audiobook via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.

I enjoyed the mystery and the different twists and turns. Great suspense, admirable heroine, good story line. This page-turner brought back many memories of nights at the hospital I used to work for. When the author outlines the scenarios that can occur in an ICU, it is clear that she is quite knowledgeable about the subject.
It also functions as something of an exposé because it raises the question of whether the issues in Critical Cover Up are real or whether similar tragedies occur frequently in actual ICUs. Unsettling thought!

Blair Seiber did a brilliant job narrating this thriller.

Great read ! I recommend it!

After listening to A Cure For Deceit, I was really eager to listen to this book. It was a great book that shows you the origin of how the main character becomes involved in her new career path. The narration really helps to transport you into the plot, and I really sympathised with what Allison went through in this book. The writing is easy to understand if you aren’t used to more medical terms (like me).

A great book that expands on the main storyline
