Am a huge fan of Karin's work and liked how the relationship between Sara Linton and Will Trent has developed throughout the series. This book follows on from her last book Fallen. This book filled in the gaps of the backgrounds of some of the main characters, Will, Amanda, Angie. I loved this book especially finding out about Will's father but I won't spoil it for you. I wasn't too keen on the narrator when she did Fallen but I have to say she was much much better narrating Criminal. Looking forward to the next one!

I would if this was the kind of book they listen to
Which character – as performed by Jennifer Woodward – was your favourite?
I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Woodward
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes definitely
Any additional comments?
With this book you get to know Will's background, the murder of his mum and his dad's criminal dealings , how Will was found, what secrets Amanda is keeping, and what input she has made in Will's life and the list goes on.......... I loved the storyline about Amanda and Evelin when they first became detectives and the sexism and other obstacles that faced back in 70's. I would love to read books based on them I'm sure that would make for some good reading.

narration was a bit irritating - the southern accent & excessive emphasis on every sentence, no matter whether significant or incidental.
Found the story a little difficult to follow at first, and the characters hard to identify. But it suddenly picked up pace in the second half

A good story which deals with serial killing and says a lot about the police force in Atlanta in the 70s. Female heroes, who have to take on their male colleagues as well as the criminals.

On first listening I was disappointed with this book but have since gone back to it and have thoroughly enjoyed this second visit.
The book explains why there is the strange relationship between Amanda Wagner and Will. It also gives insight into the life of a female office in the 60's in Atlanta- probably everywhere else as well.
Worth a read!
