Summary

New York Times best-selling author Meghan March goes back to New Orleans and the world of Lachlan Mount with a dangerous and bold new anti-hero.

The thing about ghosts is they’re supposed to stay dead.

That’s exactly what I am, but I can’t stay away from Magnolia Marie Maison for one more day, let alone another year.

We’ve already got 15 of those between us.

As it stands, she’ll want to kill me as soon as she lays eyes on me. And knowing her, she’s completely up to the task.

But I’m a man on a mission, and I’ve got everything riding on this.

So, here I come, Magnolia. This ghost is ready for whatever you got.

After all, there’s only one way I want this to end - ’til death do us part.

Oh Mama!

This book is a highly anticipated read & listen for me and Meghan March did not disappoint. Magnolia is now at the top of my favourite Meghan March’s heroines to date. A must listen only to hear Joe Arden utter one word over & over again. The word “mama” will never be same, the way he says it was h🔥t AF...he makes my ovaries explode every time! The cliffhanger left me gobsmacked! Bring on Madam Tempress.

Magnolia and Moses were ALL. THE. MF. THINGSSSS!!

I always pick up a Meghan March novel knowing it’s going to be one hell of a ride. Creole Kingpin exceeded my expectations and I was OBSESSED! This story grabs you from the very beginning and never lets go. It’s days later after finishing and I feel like I’m still living in this story. Magnolia and Moses were ALL. THE. MF. THINGSSSS!!

This story was mind blowing and Moses and Magnolia’s romance had me racing through so many emotion. From jaw-dropping twists to swoon-worthy romance to gasp-inducing drama and everything in between, Creol Kingpin had it all. This wasn’t just a story, it was an experience. Of course Meghan March is is queen of cliffhangers and we’re left with a major one! I cannot wait for Madam Temptress!

Narration was performed by powerhouses Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. And let me tell you, their performances are the reason I listen to audio! They effortlessly bring the characters story to life. They take a five star book and turn it into a 10 star audio. Must listen!

PREPARE TO BE BLOWN AWAY

I knew it was a Duet and I knew book 2 wasn't going to be released until April.. but I can never ever resist the pull of a new Meghan March book.. and this first slice set in New Orleans was so damn good and refreshingly different too. Gangster Moses and Hooker Magnolia met during hurricane Katrina and, in two weeks stranded together, they bonded and blew hot - until Moses left. He couldn't stay and she couldn't go.. so he promised he’d come back.. but it took him fifteen years and in those years a lot has happened to them both. Magnolia’s an independent, strong, spirited, fierce ex Hooker - ex Madam - ex Sex Club owner and she boldly holds her head high. She’s hardened her heart, she’s got a sharp tongue that’ll slash you right down and she’s quick witted too.. so when Kingpin Moses walks back into her life over a decade too late, the feisty clever woman dresses to impress and gives him Hell. And Moses wouldn’t have her magnificent self any other way.. after all he’s only come back for her.. and he’s prepared for a battle and this possessive protective sexy man doesn't take no for an answer.. but when Magnolia’s suddenly in danger the stakes quickly rise.

Oh my God.. I cannot tell you how wonderful this is with its sizzling chemistry, its suspenseful storyline, its mood and mystery, its fierce badass heroine with a layer of soft and vulnerable and its powerful, sexy as sin hero. Together they take you on a fast-paced thrilling smokin journey that will pull you right in. There’s drama, humor, twists, heat, steam, secrets, swoons, danger, drools and also catch-up appearances of pre-loved characters Mount and Keira from The Mount trilogy in this passionate, epic, second chance, push ‘n pull love story.. and of course a cliffhanger ending.

Worth a credit? Yes, yes, yes.. in fact I’d use two!.. and it’s got to be Meghan’s best book yet. It’s intricately weaved, full of passion and chemistry you can feel to your very soul and its dual POV storyline is brought to life by the wonderful A list narrators Erin and Joe (I think this is your best work to-date Joe) and together they absolutely delivered perfection. I’m utterly obsessed by this story Meghan, you’ve left me weeping and whaling in a corner watching and practically wishing away the hours until my next fix in New Orleans.

NOT what I thought it was :(

1. Actual ghosts are not part of the story.
2. It's about women who have sex for money.
3. Author says she is tough and strong. I'm not buying it.
4. She's obsessed over a man she dated for two weeks, 15 years ago.

I'm trying to push through and keep listening, but so far I personally don't want to listen to a lady talking about her "girls" she has working for sex. She thinks she is tough and drinks and smokes and swears and dresses provocatively... it seems immature. That's not what makes a person strong. Moses thinks she is strong. Yet, she claims she doesn't want him back, and after not seeing him after 15 years, he is back for only one day and asks her to dinner and ... she shows up. Huge eye roll. She gave in SO easily.

4. Half way through the book, no romance, no love.

This is how we do it!!!

Montell Jordan keeps playing over in my head.... "This is How We Do It". I'm telling ya, I get sucked right into Mrs. March's stories. If y'all are Meghan March fans than you know that Meghan March brings her characters so vividly to life. Magnolia is one of my very favorite female characters from March yet! She's strong and so confident. I'm looking forward to seeing the awakening to the beast that I know is hiding inside Moses. He hasn't unleashed it as of yet but I got some glimpses. Magnolia was seriously the alpha here, and I don't mind one bit seeing a woman take the center stage... and she owns it!!

Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are such an amazing duo!! They work so well together. Joe has this delicious, thick timber that is a pleasure to listen to. Erin Mallon is one of my favorite female narrators. She's able to work so much emotion into her words. The electric chemistry I felt with just the words was thoroughly projected through these narrators voices.

Will Moses change the reading of the cards

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are amazing narrators. This story was everything you wanted and more. When you read and listen there just something these narrators do to make you feel like your are watching this story from a distance.

Magnolia is a spit fire. She has turned a new leaf and wants more. She's trying to do things right this time and with the help of her friends, things are off to a great start but there's something out there that wants her soul. They want her to pay for something that she needed to do.

The person who is eagerly knocking at her door leaving notes and doing things that she has never seen has her trapped. The readings mean something that she has received but she has Moses. He is on a mission and he's not stopping until it's complete.

Creole Kingpin is full of suspense and it's a book that you will not put down. It's a fantastic start to a series that I know will knock your socks off! The last sentence now has you on your toes thinking what has happen and Moses what are you hiding. Things have come to far to mess up now!!

10/10 would recommend to ANYONE

Amazing story, well-written and developed. Magnolia was no-nonsense, sassy and assertive. I love strong, independent heroines, that are smart and Magnolia is by far, my most favorite female characters to this day. I'm a sucker for second chance romances and I am curious to see how this is going to play out especially after how the story ended!!

Would recommend to anyone 10/10

Loved it! Gripping, captivating and steamy!

I have said it before and I will say it again, you can never go wrong with a book by Meghan March. Her writing and characters are captivating and engaging. When I had the chance to listen to Creole Kingpin, I jumped at the chance! Joe Arden and Erin Mallon were Moses and Magnolia. They brought the story to life for me and I love it.

Meghan takes us back to New Orleans and Magnolia Maison and wait for it, Moses Gaspard! This story took me by surprise and I just devoured it! There is history between Moses and Magnolia and one not easily put aside. Magnolia does not want Moses, right? But Moses is one determined man! But do not count Magnolia out yet. She is one of the strongest female characters ever written.

I cannot begin to describe the chemistry between Magnolia and Moses. Just as he is determined to win her back, Magnolia is determined to keep him out of her life. Fifteen years is just too long in her mind. Magnolia has a new life. One she worked very hard to achieve. But Moses is resolute on what he wants. These two have not had an easy life and their story will tug at your heart. And that ending, that ending blew me away! I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book. This is a must-read. Meghan March gave us an unforgettable story and we are only halfway there! This is a must-read and/or listen for sure!

Happy listening!

Good Story

I love Meghan March’s books and spend a fair amount of my time in the car listening to audio books. I was disappointed at the voice of the female character. Hopefully they will go back to the previous voice for the next book.
