Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

Radcliffe Academy is one of the most prestigious magical institutions in the Hidden World. Only the most skilled witches and warlocks grace these hallowed halls. There's just one teeny, tiny problem. I don't belong here. At all. First of all, I'm not a witch. I'm 100 percent grade-A, boring, bona fide human. Second, this isn't even my life. See, I was out celebrating my 21st birthday when I fell into an open manhole. Next thing I knew, I was being rushed to a hospital, and the EMTs kept asking me if I had allergies to unicorn blood.

I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae. But of course, there’s a catch - all I have to do to claim my birthright is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true, as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

Summary
My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.
Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.
Which could spell death for us all.
Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally - as the bait.

Twilight, no crave, no Twilight... really can’t tell the difference...
If you’ve read Twilight, then you’ll find a lot in common with this book, not kidding it actually references it! I found myself rolling my eyes a lot at it. I was left with more questions and plot holes than I’d care to count. I just wish it had a little more substance as there we’re a few times I thought, okay, that’s interesting but then something else happened and it didn’t explain or have any follow through...Interesting concept on vampires but didn’t really go into the how, what & why... dragons? Really? no world building at all. No character building. A very easy read. Don’t think I will pick up book number two, I think I already know what’s going to happen.

Read this if you like the boy saves girl trope.
I loved the very beginning, but I think Jaxon and Grace got too friendly too quick. I would've liked it more if they didn't become bf and gf so quickly. Story was okay, but nothing too special. The narration was good.

A great YA read/listen
Review Crave by Tracy Wolff
Like others I felt the similarities to the Twilight series, but that is all, just similarities and most of that is the all-consuming love story between human girl Grace and vampire Jaxon, set in a remote location.
Beyond these similarities Crave is a great YA read/listen. Some parts are very corny, some parts aren’t even well written, the characters are stereotypical, and there isn’t a lot of action until the final chapters (due to the all-consuming romance), but the world building makes up for all its faults, faults that are really only apparent to aged, hardened readers like myself. And despite the faults I was, like others, hooked from the first page and loved every minute of the nearly 15 hours it took to listen to – a listen that was narrated perfectly.
However, I was not keen on the ending of Carve and, think I am not going to enjoy book 2 as much, but that said, I am hooked and am still going to read the entire series.

DollarGeneral's knock off version of HP & Twilight
Yall. This book. Don't. Imagine if a worker at Dollar General were commissioned to write a knock off version of Harry Potter and Twilight, but made the main character an idiot and unrelatable, made uncomfortable romance scenes with teens, and focused primarily on extensively describing sexual scenes throughout the entire book, making you forget that the book even has a plot. Jackson-the main male character of the book is highly unlikable and distant and the love between him and the main character seems baffling. It is poorly written, and I believe supposed to be written from the voice of an idiotic teenager, but it just comes off as incredibly basic writing from someone who thinks they know how teenagers sound, but don't. I listened to this book until the end, solely because I was entertained by how stupid the lack of plot was. Do not waste your credit. It is essentially the same thing as Twilight but so much worse.

Just, no.
Disclaimer: I am in my 30s, but typically like YA fantasy. If you are actually a teenager you might not feel the same way.
I almost never write reviews because I can generally find something I like about a book. This one is an exception. The story line had potential but the writing is bad. SO many repeat phrases (“Just, no”, “Sexy A.F., etc), inner monologues that go on foreverrrrr and undeveloped characters make it a rough read (or listen in this case). The fact that the two main characters are so desperately in love with one another after literal days of meeting each other is ridiculous, even for teenagers. Don’t even get me started on all of the nonsense that happened at the end. Too many vague loose-but-not-loose ends. It’s bad. This is coming from a person that can usually enjoy a story for what it has to offer (I.e., I am not picky).

I thoroughly enjoyed this book
I don't often review the books I read but I'll make an exception for this one. I haven't really read any Y.A stuff since I read the Twilight series and I guess the cover just kept drawing me to this book. So, I thought what the heck I'll give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a copy cat of twilight and the story grabbed me pretty quick. It definitely kept me interested throughout and by the end I was really kind of riveted. I certainly hopes she is working on a follow up. I will definitely be looking for that in the future as the way this one left off was has me seriously intrigued. I thoroughly enjoyed this little YA novel .

Fantastic PNR a definitely must hear!
I absolutely loved this story, I am a fan of paranormal romances, I love vampires, dragons, shifters, and witches and yes I am a Twihard fan, so this book is definitely my cup of tea. That been said, I will also say it's different in some important aspects, I love Grace, she is one to always push forward, not giving up and not giving anyone a way to overcome her. The characters are all amazing, I love that it's told in first person present tense and all the references to popular books. Jaxon Vega is my new book boyfriend and I just can't wait to see what the next books have to offer, it's going to be a long year waiting for it, the cliffy will kill me slowly until then. I am thrilled to see more adult and steamy scenes in this YA books, the mystery surrounding the story will make you read from start to finish even though it's a long book. The audiobook is perfectly narrated by Heather Costa and Tim Paige, I totally recommend it as well. Phenomenal 5 stars!

O. M. G. All of you (reviewers) lied to me
This book took so much longer to finish than the time lapse inside the story. The story itself was... Well, I want to say boring and predictable but it was more frustrating than either of those adjectives. It tries to give you vague plot points to provoke mystery and intrigue, but all it did for me was incite anger and annoyance. The main characters were just base YA character archetypes with no real depth to them. Minor characters were there to either gushing over Grace the new girl, vomit exposition at her, or completely forgotten by the author until the last minute only to be forgotten again. The build up to the climax came out of nowhere since there were almost no hints alluding to the final act aside from checking how much time is left on the audio book. There are interesting ideas at the beginning but they are all but forgotten in the face of the all encompassing attraction between Grace and Jaxon. Costa's reading felt very limited in character range aside from Macy who just sounded like Grace on a lot of Prozac. And Tim Paige's narration came completely out of nowhere, much like the final climax of the book.

I LOVE this story and can't wait for the next book
OMG! It has been a REALLY long time since a new book captured my attention as quickly as this one! I downloaded Crave on a whim during an Audible.com sale, and I'm so glad I did.
It sucked me in from the first chapter and has left me wanting SO much more. I was desperate to start book 2, only to find out it hasn't been released yet.
I love the characters and the way the author slowly introduces new information, always keeping you guessing.
I just couldn't get enough of this story and finished it in less than 24 hours!

Need the rest ASAP!
I love this book! Yes it follows some of your typical vampire/witch/shifter patterns but it stands on its own at the same time. I am dying to know what happens to Grace next and how this will effect her relationship with Jackson! I seriously can’t wait until the next book comes out in September and I’m heartbroken the last one isn’t releasing until 2021! 😩

So Bad I Returned It
I tried. I really did. I gave this book a few hours of listening, but it was just so cringey that I could not listen any longer. The story is ridiculously predictable. The main character is ...just... dumb. It's definitely trying to be Twilight and Harry Potter all at once, but it falls so short. I feel really bad, because I'd never want to say an author's work is "bad," and I'm SURE this book has its audience, but it's not me. This reads as a very good amateur book, but a poor professional one.
