Denmark is often said to be the happiest country in the world. That's down to one thing: hygge. ' Hygge has been translated as everything from the art of creating intimacy to cosiness of the soul to taking pleasure from the presence of soothing things. My personal favourite is cocoa by candlelight....' You know hygge when you feel it. It is when you are cuddled up on a sofa with a loved one or sharing comfort food with your closest friends. It is those crisp blue mornings when the light through your window is just right.

Summary
Cozy Minimalist Home goes beyond pretty and sets up your home for true connection and rest without using more resources, money, and stuff than needed.
After listening to Myquillyn Smith's first book, The Nesting Place, women everywhere were convinced that it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful and they found real contentment in their homes. But how does a content imperfectionist make actual design decisions?
Cozy Minimalist Home is the answer to that question. Written for the hands-on woman who'd rather move her own furniture than hire a designer, this is the guidance she needs to finish every room of her house one purposeful design decision at a time. With people, priorities, and purpose in mind, anyone can create a warm, inviting, cozy, and beautiful home that transcends the trends. You'll have the tools to transform your home starting with what you already have, and using just enough of the right furniture and décor to create a home you're proud of in a way that honors your personal priorities, budget, and style.
In Cozy Minimalist Home, Myquillyn Smith helps you:
- Realize your role as the curator of your home who makes smart, style-impacting design choices
- Finally know what to focus on, and what not to worry about when it comes to your home
- Discover the real secret to finding your unique style - it has nothing to do with those style quizzes
- Understand how to find a sofa you won't hate tomorrow
- Deconstruct each room and then re-create it step by step with a fail proof process
- Create a pretty home with more style and less stuff - resulting in backwards decluttering!
- Finish your home and have it looking the way you've always hoped so you can use it the way you've always dreamed
Cozy minimalism isn't about going without or achieving a particular new, modern style. Nope. It's simply a mindset that helps you get whatever style YOU LOVE with the fewest possible items.

The book I have been waiting for!
I lean toward minimalism, but didn't want the stark, unwelcoming atmosphere that total minimalism can create. This book is the perfect balance! My favorite part is that the focus is on people and not things. A wonderful, practical guide on how to create a cozy, minimalist home! Thank you Myquillyn!!

Just What I Needed!
I have read many audible books on minimalism. Okay, so now I feel lighter and free, but why don’t I love my space? What is off about my house?
This book really opened my eyes to interior decorating. I never thought about shapes, textures, balancing feminine with masculine, etc. And I never knew where to start! Well when you actually follow the step by step process and don’t get ahead of yourself, I found that I might not naturally have the gift for interior design, but willing to learn and listen I really improved my house!
I would not recommend this book as a beginners guide to minimalism. I couldn’t imagine trying to decorate my house before I got rid of all the stuff that didn’t spark joy! This book is more of what to do after that. I enjoyed it.

Cozy Minimalist
I really enjoyed this book. In May we purchased our first home and we married in November. I want a home that is cozy, inviting, and that feels like comfort to everyone who visits. right now I'm just overwhelmed with stuff? This book has helped me realize that I need to get real about my stuff. Not just organize but get rid of things we don't need in our home. Made me feel good about not having every room complete at once. that it's okay to take my time to give each room the space to be great. I feel like I have additional tools to make our home perfect for us.

This Book Has Answered My Decor Questions Forever!
I didn't know what I wanted.
I haven't known what I wanted from my home since it was only my room as a teenager, much less as a young wife decorating my first place. I've learned so much about myself in the last few years of homemaking, but still could not figure out how to make my home match my vibe while being both purposeful and beautiful.
Myquillyn to the rescue! She not only gave me inspiration and purpose, but very practical tips on how to make each room feel intentional and cohesive.
I was apprehensive about moving into our new house and starting from scratch again until I listened to this book, and now I'm excited to make this new place into a beautiful, purposeful, and cozy home.

Loved it! Inspiring. Very helpful.
I will listen to this one again and again, whenever I need cleaning or decorating inspiration. Listening to it is like talking to a good friend over tea who is non-judgmental and a helper rather than a hindrance to your decluttering. Highly recommend.

Short on substance, but messaging was pretty good
I listened to this in about 1/2 day. I skipped through the chapters on decorating. I was looking for more on decluttering. I didn't need them. I like her last chapter on serving people and the beginning which made me feel connected to her, but the middle was lacking for me.
