Jim Gold is a former FBI agent turned Private Investigator, currently living in a small town in Pennsylvania. A number of people travelling the back roads have been disappearing for a month, and with next to no trace of them found, the main suspicion is that they've been kidnapped.

When his nemesis from the FBI shows up and takes over the case, Jim must work fast to save Tracy. But after a while, he starts to think that there's more going on, and the perpetrators are even more dangerous than anyone he's ever faced.

Listening to the author's voice, he brings all his characters to life. Those who should be feared, others you can feel their emotional pain, but there are moments of humour to lift you. As my first audio book experience it feels a little indulgent to be read to, but I highly recommend this author and his voice
